Can't say I care too much about McGinn not signing, he's a good player but not as good as Brown, Ntcham, McGregor or Rogic so it's no travesty that he's gone to Villa, where he'll start week in week out, instead. Plus I'd like to see Kouassi get more game time with Armstrong gone. Excited about Arzani signing, think it's a fantastic one.

I agree re: signing McGinn but it's the letting the manager down on targets he actually wants that worries me. He has sounded more downbeat recently than he has been. Fully think he's aware of how things are and accepting of it but it does seem penny pinching to lose out on a player we easily could've had.

Why is the homegrown thing suddenly an issue for Spurs?

Look at Arsenal. They don’t have a single English player in their starting 11. They’ve only bought foreign players. Why didn’t they have to buy homegrown players?

If you have a squad of 25, you need 8 homegrown players. It scales down, so if you've 24, you only need 7 etc.

 

Homegrown doesn't mean English.

 

Dier, for example, isn't homegrown.

Also we have a ton of English players in our squad now so it doesn't really matter.
