    .....what does that mean?

  3. He tweeted big news after that tweet so I think it has something to do with Werdum getting cleared

I'll be interested to see what TJ does. Don't want the Cejudo fight and would like to see Cruz get a warm up beforehand.

This is insane. They released the result of the day-of weights of this weekend. Only six fighters had less than a 10% increase in weight from the weigh-ins to fight day. Basically, it means the UFC or at least the California's state commission can force them to go up in weight.

UFC 227 fight night weights: All but six fighters come in over CSAC regulations

Some of the more notable takeaways from this...

    - DJ actually weighed a pound more than Henry even though Henry looked absolutely massive in comparison.
    - DJ weighed the exact same as Cody (142 lbs). That leaves tons of possibilities for those guys.
    - Thiago Santos weighed 16.5 lbs more than Kevin Holland on the day of the fight (209.5 lbs to Holland's 193 lbs).

  8. So if Rory loses at all the title becomes vacant and the winner of the tournament gets the belt.

  9. So does the winner of the tourney go on to fight Mousasi? lol

That all sounds awesome to me. I used to hate the format where the tourney winner got a title shot. If it’s a real Grand Prix, the champ shouldn’t get a pass to the end.

I find it pretty crazy, but nearly every time I have an opinion about a fight, Ray Longo says almost exactly what I was thinking. Yesterday he stated almost exactly what I was thinking about the Mighty Mouse fight and why I leaned towards him winning that decision.

When a guy fights almost flawlessly for like 13 fights straight, any time he allows something even remotely negative to happen, it makes it much more dramatic and appears that he is doing much worse than he actually is (GSP had this going against him in the Hendricks fight where people acted like Hendricks dominated because we hadn't seen anyone fight Georges competitively in years). I was also pretty happy to hear Kenny Florian be outspoken about the fact that they pretty much did not score any of Mighty Mouse's strikes (especially the leg kicks) yet Cejudo's takedowns were round-winnings moves despite the fact that he did absolutely nothing with them and literally just held Demetrious down. In one round, he only had him down for about a minute and was easily outstruck from the beginning of the round.

Don't get me wrong - it was still close and it's not a robbery by any means, but I feel like this is going back to the old days of judging where a single takedown and nothing else will automatically win you the round.

It's a dead horse at this point, but most judges have no concept of what they're watching. Like, how many of them have thrown or checked a leg kick? How many have had to work out of the guard, or struggled to maintain side control? Not saying you need to be an active participant to judge, but more education is very much needed.

Me and the old man were both pretty sure Cijudo won 3-2 before it was announced. But would’ve not been upset with a draw or DJ winning it was a very brilliant and close fight

  16. Greg Hardy about to fight again

  17. Devonte Smith looked solid

  18. aaaand he knocked him out in 16 seconds

  20. I want him to get knocked out but freakishly athletic heavyweights usually do okay in the UFC.

You can tell in this interview that his cardio is really really bad.

  23. Pico moving quick!! This also answers my dumb Moose/Rory question lol

  24. Doubt he accepts it. He seems like he wanted a break + he'd be the top replacement if Brock or DC pulled out.

I'm so disappointed Derrick Lewis is co-main for 229. Not that they need to stack the card, it's going to sell regardless. But damn, I feel it's going to be a weak-ish card now.
