I made that post as I woke up, not aware of all that extra stuff ha. I'd just seen them post the t-shirt and people go crazy over it on Facebook. So yeah, statement retracted, although yeah, still anyone's guess with them!

Nah, that'll be album release time (if it's happening). I'd say January/February time.

Just listened to TBEITBN in its entirety and then immediately after listened to I Am A Nightmare.

It was like eating a steak dinner and then eating a McDouble.

 

I mean... There are a lot of things in the world that appear phallic. Ultimately its up to you to decide how to react to it. I guess I choose to not imagine everything as a dick.

the cross wouldve looked better with less flowers... they make everything seem rounder than it needs to be

 

Definitely saw a penis before I saw an upside down cross. If they did break up in 2018, is the new album almost certainly, without doubt, the last, do we think?

 

I might be in the minority, but I think it's lacking in emotional and lyrical weight. The band have an expectation from me when it comes to their slower, moody, songs. And I think this one doesn't live up to their best examples. The lyrical theme itself I'm not a fan of, and it contains multiple lines that I roll my eyes at:

You gonna cast me away into outer darkness
'cause I couldn't cover rent to stay at God's apartment?

I'm working hard at being my own MVP
instead of feeling luck just to have made the team

Then the song itself just feels plodding through the melody, it never actually takes hold in the same way something like "Brothers" or "Coca-Cola" does. I think when looking at the band's moody, slower, songs - this would rank near the bottom with "Handcuffs." If I walked into a bar tomorrow and the local act was performing it, I don't think I'm impressed. I mean, last few years has given us such a massive influx of singer songwriter stuff like Ryan Adams, Butch Walker, and Noah Gundersen that have been able to grab the lyrical and emotional throat with aplomb. After spending two years with Carry the Ghost and Ledges, you've got to really bring it when you strip it down like that ... and I don't think this does.

 

I didn't really like sealed to me the one or two times i watched a video of it. mostly because of lines like that...yeesh. those are worse than the bad lines on TDAG and Daisy, imo
