This is horrible. I will admit that I am someone who nitpicks production stuff and can even say that sometimes I know I am getting carried away buuuut this is bad. I am shocked at what they did to this song, and doubly schocked that anyone thought this was a good idea .

I’m so, so disappointed by it. Going to replace this version on the album with the acoustic one and hope they did something more appropriate with the rest of the production/arrangement choices.

Anybody here ever listen to Joe Pug’s podcast “The Working Songwriter”?

Its a really great little podcast where he discusses songwriting with some of the best songwriters out there in the Country/Folk/Americana world. I highly recommend it. Also if you don’t listen to Joe Pug you should check his music out too.

Love this podcast. Admittedly, I haven’t listened since the Lydia Loveless episode but that’s just because I haven’t been super pulled in by his recent guests. Still subscribed and great conversations though.

Oooooof wow that Tenille Townes song was ruined. Jesus. There goes any excitement I may have had for this record.

Dan + Shay is one of my favorite groups now; all three albums are stellar

I'm still cautiously optimistic for the record, just because it's so obvious from the EP that she's a huge talent. I'm hoping that will shine through more on the other album tracks, especially the ones that I don't already have a set-in-stone impression of. But yeah, this took me from thinking she might be an AOTY contender to steeling myself for a huge disappointment.

Not sure if you know the story behind that song but Dustin Christensen and his buddy made that as a spoof of his song Vacant Motel Heart cause they always used to joke about just repeating the first lyric throughout an entire song. Anyway the song and whole album is quite good in my opinion.

knew the story but never listened to his legit music. I'll check it out. don't know if it'll top "parked out by the lake" tho. one of the most moving songs about being stuck in the past I've ever heard

Anybody here checked out Glorietta? A supergroup of sorts that consists of Noah Gunderson, David Ramirez, Matthew Vazquez (Delta Spirit) and a few others. Not really my cup of tea, but I know there are some big Gunderson and Ramirez fans around here.

We just lucked into some free tickets for Dwight Yoakam, Stever Earle, and Lucinda Williams tonight at the Greek. Super pumped, Yoakam has been on my bucketlist for awhile now.

Lucero's new cd is badass. It's similar to the material they were putting out a decade ago, in my opinion.

Saw Chris Stapleton last night and damn he didn't dissapoint. That dude has a set of pipes. There was a couple times he belted something out and all I could do was just laugh at how ridiculously good he is.
