Jeeze, possibly climate change related - we have our first real big tornado warning that I ever remember having in NH by the seacoast. We get small hurricanes but almost never tornados. It's sounding and looking pretty scary right now.. taking shelter on the bottom floor in a hallway with no windows with my cat right now, just glad my girlfriend is an hour away at her parents. Got scared she was driving back here in the thick of it. My sister was driving and had to pull over. Severe flash flood and hail warnings, too.

EDIT: *phew* the tornado warning is over. Definitely have some good flooding out there and thunder and lighting persists, but we seem to be safe

NYPD officer shot a black man in the face possibly due to a dispute over a girlfriend. He was seen planting a knife next to him, until he saw a security camera, and then took the knife back. He's only on "modified duty".

 

This reminded me to register for an absentee ballot. I hate Taylor so much and was at least happy to see the downfall of Forbes. But it was just substituting one piece of shit for another.

A small tornado touched down 5 miles from my house earlier this week and i slept right through the alarm lol. Glad you’re alright, it can be super scary!

 

I saw an "Iraq No Regrets" shirt while driving today and I couldn't look closely enough to see whether it was sarcastic, but I'm gonna take a wild guess and say no.

It ultimately boils down to people just trying to cope. It gives them a sense of security, an idea that life is not a random series of events but a carefully calculated series of events to achieve a result. They are the one who knows the truth, they are the ones who will save people bringing these theories to the light. It’s honestly makes way more sense once you look at these people in that light, it’s all they really have to cope. I pity those people to a point.

Not sure if it’s fair to compare, but I tie this with the concept of religion. Since the dawn of humanity we’ve questioned where we come from, who created us, what happens after we die. It’s a coping mechanism. I’m an agnostic but like to think everything happens for a reason and believe in karma. It’s a simplified concept that helps us sleep at night.
