Got the poster!

 

Secured the boardwalk print. Now I can enjoy the show without worrying about it.

 

Christ, that sold out quickly. Got to the page only to be disappointed. :(

 

Damn, I totally forgot about the poster going up. Oh well, maybe if I'm lucky I can grab it at the show I'm going to

 

I have so much stuff to hang up I couldn't swing one more poster.

 

Got my poster as well. Not having to pay coat check for it makes things easier at the show.

 

Gonna go ahead and buy my frame today after work and patiently wait for it to come in

I have a portfolio of stuff that needs to go up. I’m in a tiny apartment and have pretty much maxed out my wall space. I usually rotate them to keep things fresh, this is absolutely going on the wall.

Managed to grab it. Seriously so excited for the Chicago show next weekend. Gonna hit up some breweries beforehand.

Just over 2 weeks away from the final show on the 19th! So fucking excited for this.

 

It's definitely within the top 10 IMO. Short and sweet, and features some of Brian's best lyrics.

Yeah saying orphans is not too tier is like saying we came to dance is not a great song. Get a clue fool

 

We came to dance is a great song. Orphans is meh.

 

What about 45?

 

I would describe Orphans, We Came To Dance and 45 as all top tier Gaslight songs.

We Came To Dance - like Sink or Swim overall - is just so imbued with heart and soul and passion that any technical or production shortcomings are drowned out for me. The songs are so good and still when I put the album on I can hear and feel the four of them pouring everything out into this shot at doing what they want to do.

Orphans is a damn good song and like a lot of American Slang it kinda gets overlooked. The songs are all short and sweet and peppy but for me they are deceptively good and nuanced and a little deeper than I think they get recognized for.

45 is kinda weird for me because if I think about the song and how I would describe it - lead single, high energy, etc. - it doesn't sound like one that would usually be one of my favorites, but whenever I hear the song it is just so f---ing great and I find myself shouting along to the lyrics and doing cheesy air punches and stuff.
