Didn't think I minded this 3rd kit Celtic released but we're playing in Norway with it v Rosenborg and it is rotten.

100%. there's an absolute dearth of left backs out there and he's one of the best prospects in his position in the world. with his long time contract and the stupid money english clubs have, and the fact that celtic won't be able to find a better replacement, it makes no sense to not demand absolute cartoon figures.

Rumour has it we're in for Jamaal Lascalles of Newcastle now (hopefully ending our apparent Rojo interest in the process).That's what The Northern Echo have reported anyway. Lascalles went off this evening when Newcastle were drawing 0-0 with Braga and then their defensive unit collapsed. They went on to lose 4-0. Rafa's post-match presser makes for interesting reading by the way.

Just read the transcript from Benitez's press conference. Transfer window closes a week today I think, which means he's probably resigning a week tomorrow.

We're not going to paying Meyer £170k a week! The Daily Mail has taken the figure that's been thrown about in the press and divided it by 48 months and assumed that is the wage price. Not taking into account signing on fees, agents fees etc.

A solid source close to the club has stated that it will be closer to £80k a week.

 

If you can get Yerry Mina for Colombia and not Yerry Mina for Barcelona, you could be getting a great signing.

Spurs will probably get laughed at when the Grealish signing finally goes through. And I get it. But I’ve warmed up to the guy. He looks to be a very creative midfielder who is going to have the opportunity to learn from Poch. Could be up being a solid signing.

Hibs and Rangers through. Been a not bad effort from Scottish teams in Euro qualifiers so far.

 

The difference between one of the smallest PL budgets and a SPL budget is astonishing. Yet I still expected the game to be as tight as it was. I don't think there's a stark difference in terms of quality.

 

I want Rangers in the Europa group stages. Would even make the trip up.

 

Just a completely different level. Burnley get £20m for finishing 7th and Aberdeen get under £2m for finishing second here. They accounted themselves well and with a bit more guts, could've taken the tie. I think if it was well in to both your seasons then Burnley would've asserted themselves and easily won. Aberdeen played above their normal level to compete.

What's the link with Rangers for you? Just always interested in this, Liverpool would be my 'English' team if I were to subscribe that I had one.

 

That's interesting. Where do you think a team like Burnley would come in the SPL (if they had a similar budget as currently)?

I always find the qualifying rounds interesting. When you see Rangers drawing a team like Osijek and you think "I've never even heard of them... on paper they'll surely win convincing!" But then it always ends up being more tight than expected. Is there a similar discrepancy in budgets between Rangers and Osijek as Burnley and Aberdeen or is it a lot more tight? I have no idea whatsoever about Osijek!

 

None, I prefer Celtic tbh, but I just love English vs Scottish club matches, it's an extra edge and I find they are always super fun.
