Well yeah it’s definitely personal preference, but I know I’m not the only one that feels like this.

 

I get that, but I also know that there are a TON of things that a lot of people feel certain ways about. Niantic shouldn't feel like they constantly have to appease fans. There's a reason games have storage caps, it means that players have to make hard decisions instead of just holding onto everything forever

No. Your play style shouldn’t dictate what someone else’s is. With the addition of shinies, Pokémon with multiple forms, lucky Pokémon, and trading, even those who don’t hoard by any usual definition are struggling for space. People who can’t catch anything or keep anything won’t keep playing after a while, and Niantic will lose money. I have seen many people who used to be on the side of “who cares about storage” suddenly upset with these updates.

 

Yeah no I get that, which is why I said in my original post that I don’t really know if there’s a fix other than me just ceasing to care as much and transferring Pokémon I wouldn’t have otherwise transferred. But yeah like @EASheartsVinyl said it is just becoming more and more difficult deciding on what stays and what goes.

 

Even if they just gave us a computer we could send collectible ones to that would be a huge improvement. I just can’t get behind “not holding things forever” when I see people offering shinies and legendaries for the Shadow Claw Gengars that I’ve held for almost 2 years now. Especially with lucky being more likely after a long time. Random low IV Zapdos from a year ago? Nope, not trading or transferring it now. Keeping to trade with a family member down the road and hoping to get a lucky one. Same for so many others now. The game itself is building more mechanics for keeping things, and the storage is not keeping up with it.

 

The worst part is that normally I play around that area in the afternoon between my two shifts, but today I went 15-20 minutes away from there to do a raid and try to find the Spinda quest. The raid wasn't the Marowak I hoped for, I didn't catch the Registeel I did, I didn't find the Spinda quest and I missed Unown because I went there...

 

Got this today because it’s been raining nonstop for 3 days (which has helped me get 5 Mareep because electric type are everywhere)

It’s been a good day for Pokémon. Got this fat guy today from my buddy that’s visiting

 

My storage is at 1500 and I’m at 1390 solid stuff that I kind of can’t part with. It’s really kind of sad transferring some stuff. (Sorry I’m late to the conversation)

 

I'm at 200 of 300 lol. I'm ruthless though, I don't hang on to stuff I have no need for.

 

I wish I had that mentality. I always am afraid to get rid of something I might need later or someone else might want in a trade.

 

Yeah me and my girlfriend have started trading a lot lately so I suspect I'm gonna have to buy a couple of upgrades for my storage!

 

I just upgraded my storage to 400.

It usually takes me a week to get to the 200 needed coins for that upgrade and by then I just want another incubator.

 

Got shiny snubbull 89 % iv. Ill take it.

 

i have 1,350 Pokémon space lol but i also put in $25 a month for a couple of ultra boxes and throw all of my gym coins at space. ive been losing weight by walking/running about 7 miles a day and this game has been a massive proponent in keeping me consistent. i spend less than $100 on console games a year so it’s really not that bad, prob my most expensive habit tbh lol

 

I have soooo many that are from visits to other parts of the country/world that now I want to at the very least trade before transferring. Not to mention like 30 Zapdos/Articuno/Lugia. Even just stuff like Miltank or Porygon that are trash to me but someone else might need who has a regional are getting kept for now. And I have like 40 total shinies and that’s not even getting into my best raiding parties.

 

I just did an EX raid and didn't catch Mewtwo, but I did level up and get a Registeel.

I'm still a little bummed because it's was a thirty minute drive out there. But I'll take the good with the bad. *Shrugs*

 

Got Raikou this morning so that's fun, but man have I hit a wall with this game. Nothing against the game, but with my schedule I've been doing the bare minimum of playing (one Pokestop a day, catching trash in my work's parking lot and at home). Every gift I send is from my neighborhood park so I'm sure those of you I send gifts to have wondered why you consistently get one from Eastport Park.

My first Raikou’s IV’s weren’t very good. 80%

Mine were 89% which isn't terrible but I'll see if I can get anything better before powering up.

Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure every single shiny I have is in the lowest range of IVs. Like, every single one is <25%

 

Just caught a shiny Murkrow! Nice IV, but really low CP.
