Yeah I would bet the Siri thing is the 1975 intro done like that

  4. Imagine this: it opens with Matty activating Siri, asking a question and her being like “sorry I can’t process that request”...

I know OK Computer is the proper reference point here, but I like to think that Matty actually somehow listened to my band’s album and got inspired.

Billboard article was a great read, posted this in the article discussion thread, but when Matty says "That’s why I was a good drug addict, because it used to stop me being like that," about having his thoughts be all over the place, I found that really interesting.

reminded me of a denis johnson quote which i’m most certainly mangling, where he said it felt like he was born with a headache and drugs were the only thing that stopped it

His drug quote makes complete sense to me. When I read it, I was like "HOLY SHIT! THIS IS WHY MANY PEOPLE BECOME ADDICTS AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THIS IS WHY!" I smoke weed often, and the reason I like to do it and smoke cigarettes is because, although they increase your heart rate, it seems to calm me down from stress/anxiety, etc. I can relate to Matty where I'm always thinking thoughts and need to take a second and breathe sometimes. I'm OCD - anything that needs done/I need to buy, etc. I put it in my Notes or Calendar section on my phone. For instance, I have a Notes page that reads "Buy 1975 preorder when available, buy more diapers for my son, remember to do the laundry tonight because the hamper is full, buy a new vacuum cleaner since mine broke, buy more toilet paper, etc." There's a total of 50 or so things I need to do or buy. I forever tell myself in my mind that once I get it all completed, I will be "satisfied" in life and not need to be OCD anymore or create lists. However, I continually add more things to the list faster than I can complete them. When I smoke, I'm not as uptight/OCD/anal about making sure every chore is done in the house or every "task" is completed, I relaxxxxx.

^ that was long and a lot of info for ya'll. I hope someone experiences the same thing though because I'm the only person I know like this. I know people who will like keep sticky notes to remind themselves of something, but no one who obsesses over completing tasks so much that it somewhat controls their life and they feel the need to create lists of like 50 things.

  13. I recommend a task manager and something like the GTD system. ;-) Down with never ending lists.

The link title it misleading in that click-baity sorta way. He said they're the most interesting. Obviously a cocky thing to say, but they are pretty interesting.

  16. Do you agree with Matty Healy’s take on the 1975’s current position among the “big bands” in the industry? Are the ’75 really the most interesting band in the world? Sound off in the comments section below and let us know your take!

    :crylaugh:

Things I'm not surprised about: Alternative Press being absolute trash. They should stick to posting As I Lay Dying tour dates and every non-interesting-detail about that dork from Waterparks.

so far there seems to be no talk about instrumental songs. I hope they are kept to an absolute minimum. Or at least short and to the point.

I also hope they actually do another ‘75 intro. I would love to see how they change it up.

It would be perfect if Siri said the intro like someone else mentioned. That's a perfect idea and ties into their whole theme of the album

I really do think a Siri/robot intro would be really cool, echoing whoever said that above. I can hear the swells and everything, then it all cuts out to a robot voice reciting the lines.

Edit: lol beat me to it

If, by some chance, they didn't do that... they missed the mark. That's an amazing idea. I'd rather have a Siri intro than Siri during an actual song. Maybe Siri during an (otherwise) intstrumental track would be okay. Kind of like how they have "How To Draw."

I massively disagree. Please Be Naked is stunning and Lostmyhead (if you count that) is probably one of their best songs

Along with the Siri intro idea, I feel like they should do this as well.
