My bad. For some reason I thought there had been a second show added!

Thats why I think theu could be added. A lot of cities on the tour got a 2nd date, and chicago dont.

What comes first: after shows or schedule?

I think after shows come first if I remember correctly.

Hmmm.... I think it would be better to have schedule first, so you know which band see at the festival, and which at the after show. Oh well! Lets wait and see

Looks like I was wrong. 8/10 for the schedule and 8/15 for the after shows last year.

I think every year other than last year was the other way around though.

I’m pretty sure the radius clause for lolla is still in effect for riot fest so any band that plays lolla can’t play riot

I learned my fucking lesson about buying into vague Instagram posts back with that whole Operation Ivy thing. Green Day isn't playing, let-alone playing any album from start to finish.

Guess not, hah. And for what it's worth? Tickets are still at the sale price. I have no idea WTF is happening... It's also real fucking weird that they put a post out on Twitter looking for vendors and the like for this year's festival. I don't recall that ever happening.

For me, that's the biggest red flag we've seen thus far this year that something's wrong.

At this point, though? I'm just looking forward to a relatively relaxed weekend of bands I love with an open bar (deluxe VIP) and such with one of my closest friends. And hopefully enjoying a nice dinner on Thursday night and a decent aftershow or two Friday through Sunday.

Regardless what the second wave does or doesn't bring? It's going to be a blast.

At this point I just want to see Blink 182 and The Wonder Years on first row, anything about 2nd wave or after show would be a plus for me

100% waiting on Lolla to be over. Does this mean there is cross-over? Otherwise why wait until after the city's bigggest music festival?

Did the viewing areas get super crowded during the headliners last year? Would be super convenient being able to get close for the headliners without having to miss out on other acts, etc.

Not convinced that it's Lolla holding it up. Are any of the acts that would be big enough to hold-up an announcement really big enough that headlining two major festivals in Chicago within ~1 month of each other would make sense?

not sure, this will be my first year doing it. will certainly be monitoring the rate at which the vip area fills up as the day goes by on friday. its funny, i feel like the special area wont even be needed until like after 4 or 5 PM, anything before that its easy to get close. i guess it could come in handy if there are conflicts and you want to split sets and see both conflicting bands up close early in the day.

In most cases, I don't feel compelled to be super close for any bands playing later in the day, anyway... The one exception I can think of for Riot Fest was Jawbreaker last year because Jawbreaker. I was super close for them. But I generally don't bother.

Just because I like to see as much as feasible of as many bands as possible at fests like this. I don't really like the idea of "camping out" in front of a stage and missing a band just so I can be like, 50 feet closer or some shit.

But if it's gonna be easy enough? I'm all about it.

Yea only time ive camped is when two of my absolute must sees were back to back on the same stage, was last year for TV on the Radio-> MIA. got there right as built to spill was ending and as soon as the crowd dispersed, got right up on the rail and hung there for the next 3 hours (then sprinted to Jawbreaker as soon as MIA finished, lol).

Five years ago, Fred Durst blocked me on twitter for referencing that Taproot drama from like, 2001.

If they play, I wonder if I'll also be blocked from Riot Fest.
