Bring Me The Horizon did it with Drown on their latest album, I'm sure Drake and Kanye have both done something like that too, although that's not with me being able to back that up at all.

 

the jazz june released a split with dikembe with the song Over Underground (technically not a single) on it and it sounded completely different when they released their full length a few months later.

 

The 1975 did it with two of their songs Sex and The City, both of which already had EPs based around them too. Included all versions with their album though, so that was cool.

 

I just find myself agreeing with @Jason Tate on the quality of the mix. I don't know if I'd have really noticed it without reading about it here, but now that I do, it definitely is a detriment to the quality of the song.

I've noticed it even more in light of the stellar mixing of TBEITBN.

Oh right! I don't listen to them a fat lot, kinda have a love/hate relationship with them. Well, less love/hate, more love/don't pay attention to. I have that Chicago House of Blues live CD/DVD which is brilliant, and the alchemy indexes I used to have. Beggars too, but I just don't find myself listening to them that often. I feel like there's a very specific mood I have to be in and I'm rarely in it.

 

Their new record is stellar. You should def give it a try.

 

Erm guys, when was there a TDAG postcard with a Devil patch released again? I remember the Deja patch because of RSD but have no recollection of a Devil patch, less so the postcard with the RIP 2018 on it. Was that for the folk who had sent a dollar for the booklet?

And I just tried one of the new Thrice songs and was impressed - will give it a go later this evening yes!

 

I saw them at the tiny Brooklyn Bowl place in London which was incredible but yeah I only got a ticket because someone else was able to get one, sold out ridiculously quickly

Don't ask why but I got up at 5am for my tickets. Not because I was under any impression I'd somehow be guaranteed them, but out of sheer panic. Maybe I naively thought I would somehow be first in an internet queue - didn't work though :') At least my mate got me them. He said that he was genuinely concerned I'd never talk to him again if he didn't get them, the most anxious he's ever felt about anything hahahaha.

I was a latecomer unfortunately. I always read the forums but never thought to join. Years later I go to join and there's a notice saying that they weren't accepting new users because of spam accounts or something. Missed out on it! Think it was just a month ago or so when I remembered to check if new users were finally being let on and boom, it's this new chorus site. Think I'm settling in alright though haha!
I'm out at the moment but I've heard two songs now in the car and I'll certainly be looking into the album properly tonight!

Yeah, definitely just learning to look past it and hope for a better mix of the record as a whole.

 

I'm just hoping we get some stronger songs that help me ignore the mix and stuff if that's how they are gonna do it!

I haven't been this emotional about Brand New since a guy told me they were a girl band and I should listen to real music.

 

Oh man I would flip out. People having different musical tastes is fine by me, but people being dense and super obtuse with their opinions in that way is my biggest pet peeve.

 

I hope it happens sooner than 2018. Like tomorrow would be nice.
