Ive seen blink 7 times since 1999 and my 8th will be this September and my first with Matt. Not sure how its going to work without Tom and your comment is how I feel about it

I saw more banter between Mark and Matt in 2016 than I saw between Mark and Tom in 2009 & 2013 :speakno:

I saw them a few times with Tom and once in 2013 Mark and Tom didn’t say a single word on stage. It really killed the show.

Idk even the last show I saw with Tom in 2013 had more interaction than when I saw them in 2016. I don't know if Matt said a word the entire show.

Matt didn't say a single word last year at my show either. Mark ended up using a lot of material from the 2016 summer tour which made me feel like I was in a time warp haha.

Yeah I saw Blink with Tom twice in 2013 and there was a lot of stage banter at both shows. I've seen the new Blink 3 times in 2016 and I might have heard Matt say a total of 5 words.

I've seen them twice, once with Tom on the 2011 tour and once with Matt in 2016. The show I saw with Tom felt like peak Blink as far as the banter went, they were going back and forth between every single song and I thought they were hilarious, though I was 15 to be fair lol (yes I'm young)

Matt didn't say anything at all but I didn't really mind

The last time I saw blink with Tom was the day after DJ AM died so I don't have an accurate show to judge, Mark tried to force one joke but otherwise they didn't say much and sped through that night for obvious reasons

Was supposed to see them at Mohegan at one point after that but it got canceled

Saw them on their summer tour in '16 and Matt said maybe three words but I didn't care. San Diego and M&M's made my whole ticket worth it and I'll take sounding better live over dick jokes

Yeah, i’m at the point in my life where i’m going to blink shows for music, not bad stand up. Less talking, more music is fine for me at least.

I feel like when I saw them in 2016, they hardly said anything on stage at all at least from what I remember. Mark said something like "Wow you people are so much better looking than the people in Cincinnati last night. Those people were fuuuucked up." which I'm sure he says something like that at every show.

In 2012(?) when I saw them, Tom was obviously wasted and took over the mic. He kept yelling things about taking a bubble bath with Oprah and weird stuff like that. He also kept changing the lyrics of the songs like in "Man Overboard" from "Soon we'll all be gone" to "Soon I'll fuck your mom".

In hindsight, it kind of seems like Mark was probably frustrated with that because the only time he talked during the whole show was when Tom called out his name and told him to address the crowd. He walked up to the mic and said ".....sup?"

I don't miss the changing the words most of all. It ruined Always for me consistently. And he started to do it way too much.

When I saw them for the Neighborhoods Tour in 2011 there was a pretty good amount of back and forth between Mark and Tom, mainly because Tom tripped and fell near the end of WMAA and ended up finishing the song laying down on his back which Mark made fun of him for.

I saw them again in September of 2013 right before they did their 10 year Untitled Anniversary Tour but they hardly spoke to the crowd and the only banter that I remember is Tom asking the crowd if they liked the opening band (who were absolutely horrible) and the crowd boo'ed and Mark and Tom were both amused by the reaction but that was it other than a Tom BJ joke.

In 2016 with Matt, he didn't speak to the crowd at all while Mark said a few things here and there but they mostly just played. Which is fine and I get it, they're just a different band with Matt and really have been a different band since the Untitled album. The last time there was truly back and forth banter was the Pop Disaster Tour, even the Untitled Tour there really wasn't a whole lot of back and forth especially compared to the earlier tours where there was banter after nearly every song.

When I saw Them in 2009 for the reunion show, Mark did most the talking. I don’t recall Tom saying anything really. I think Travis said more with his “Sup?” Line than Tom did there.

In 2013, again Mark did most of the joking between songs. I think Tom said “don’t tell the other cities but we like you better.” as a joke because they played Hearts All Gone twice to film the video for it. That was about it,

In 2016, Mark admittedly did most the talking between songs but Matt did do some banter with Mark here and there. You could tell they were both having fun, and Matt was all smiles.

Thing I realize; Mark likes to talk to the crowd and make Dad jokes more these days. There hasn’t seemed to be much banter for them since Untitled released.

In 2001 (my first concert ever) they had such great banter and love for each other that one spit in the others mouth at my show. The 2 times I experienced weird/off blink performances was on Pop Disaster tour , compared to the previous summer they seemed very quiet and tired. And in 2011, they day of neighborhoods release, they only mentioned it once in passing.

I'm sure if I was constantly asked for 2.5 years about an album that wasn't actually being worked on, I would be sick of talking about it too. haha. Only halfway kidding - I'm sure they were stoked to get it released finally but the recording process didn't exactly seem enjoyable.

  18. Yes to ALL of this. Was that terrible opening band in Vegas? I have video of the crowd booing the opening band when Mark asked about them. I think georggin was managing them. Lol. They were so bad.

I was at tom’s last show in Vegas 2014. I’d seen him have no passion for too long and I was very excited when Matt stepped in. How quickly we forget the whole “Tom looked like he didn’t want to be there” complainers post reunion - because dude really didn’t wanna be there. Untitled anniversary shows were whatever. Too little too late and he was snotty again right after. No pass given. Fun show though.

No it was in CT, the band was New Beat Fund (I had to look them up). They were terrible, no energy, the songs were looooooong, lead singer was acting like a jerk on stage. When the show was over and everyone was walking out of the venue the band was at a merch table and there was no line, literally everyone was just walking past them to leave. It was kind of sad really.

Haha that's funny. They were the worst. And to think about all that exposure they were getting by opening up for blink.

Gotten into the sekrets and alkaline trio lately, especially sadie and voices are such a great songs.

The darker Mark sound would blend so well with Skiba, i think. I enjoy California, but having Matt yell to poppy power chords is not the best way to use his talent.
