If you work in public service and have enough money to buy and run a yacht you are likely to be terrible at your job. If you work in the media and cover politics and start a sentence with "Whether you own a row boat or a yacht" in order to defend yacht owners you are likely to be a worthless media figure.

 

With the vast amount of everyday stories on social and economic injustice I can't imagine thinking "I better use my platform to defend the super wealthy yacht owners before this gets out of hand"

Broken windows fallacy?

This reminds me of protests and media coverage. The protests that get covered in the media are usually the ones that turn violent and damage property. Peaceful protests rarely are mentioned.

Weird to use a four year metric. It’s not the fastest in 5-10 by quite a bit.

 

Last quarter was 2.2 and we never heard about it, and even when Obama got over 5 they never pushed that the economy was growing. When this falls back down it'll be someone else's fault, just like its someone else's fault that the economy is relatively stable and still growing right now. And we're all still fucked because wages are still stagnant

Fun fact, Nazis historically are very anti-Christian and wanted to replace Christmas (I mean, it's technically the birthday of the most famous Jewish person ever) with the original Pagan holidays Christmas derived from. They argued that Santa Claus was a degenerate reimagining of Odin. They had references to God and Jesus stricken from Christmas carols.
