The episodes with the comedians I actually enjoy are still somehow shit. Seinfeld dehumanizes every guest on his show and borderline worships the cars he features. He doesn’t ask any real questions. He talks over his guests, spouts dumb opinions about PC culture, and annoyingly fake-laughs throughout each episode.

Dang, I've never got that vibe, Then again, I generally like Seinfeld, so it's never stuck out to me.

Glad to read the same sentiments I’ve been feeling on Jerry after watching half the new season. I’m a huge “Seinfeld” fan, but in all reality, I just fucking love Larry & his writing style. I think it was the Tracy Morgan episode that really struck a nerve with me; Jerry is entirely too irritable & an asshole to host this show, and compared to older eps, it’s jarring.

    We hate-watch a show that he hate-hosts.

Does Netflix suggest the guests for any of them? I feel like the Neil Brennan and Hasan Minhaj appearances were from Netflix. While the Minhaj episode was interesting, Brennan and him didn't seem to have any real chemistry, which made it a little awkward.

I don't really like Brian Regan on his own, but for whatever reason his two appearances cracked me up.

I didn't care much for his recent special. I had an album of his that I liked in high school though

I liked the Iliza special too. Some bits went on a lil too long for me but it was v enjoyable and she had good messages behind the jokes

I watched the Iliza special today. Overall pretty funny, but wtf were those hashtags on the screen? I wish those weren't included. It seems like a half-baked marketing idea.

Pretty horrible body shamer, made a lot of shitty comments about it a few years ago and I wrote her off completely. She was on an ep of Hollywood Handbook that was brutal

I was gonna ask whats the deal with her too. Ive never heard any of that but overall most of the comedy I've seen of hers has been pretty pro-women/feminist and I thought that was nice. Her show on Freeform I felt had a good message for those in that audience (aka teens and young adults watching freeform)

  21. Her body joke from the special a few years ago was the opposite of body shaming ..
Remember, girls, the thinner you are, the more men like you because then you're vulnerable and you're cold. When there's no fat on your body, you're freezing, and when you're freezing, you stay inside, and when you stay inside, you don't vote.

One more thing: I also don't want to shame skinny girls. That's great, too. The truth is, it's none of my business what you do with your body and it shouldn't be anyone else's. Women's choices are important.

And she wrote this in 2015:
Looking Like That, She Was Asking For It. Right? | HuffPost
Damienne’s act is a lot of self-deprecation. She knows she is overweight with one arm; she points it out. But because she isn’t famous, she didn’t have the benefit for getting in front of those insults before they hit her. All we saw was Ari’s take on her.

It comes down to this: A man found the shape of a woman’s body unacceptable so she was publicly humiliated. This is not a new concept to our society. Looking like that, she was asking for it... Sound like a familiar phrase, anyone? [...]

What’s odd is this: As much as women are put down in our society and as “fragile” and “sensitive” and “unstable” as we are told we are ( I’m gonna get a lot of fun hate tweets from guys who have “69” in their handles and have three followers but...) when men (some men) feel wronged or feel that they are owed something, let’s say female attention, acceptance, a cool spot at the lunch table, on occasion, they lash out violently. I don’t see any women shooting up schools because they feel left out or rejected by the opposite sex. I don’t see women often raping men because they need to feel power. This isn’t about women being better than men, this is about reactions that have become commonplace.

I dunno what she had said in the past, but her message has female/body positive in the recent things I've seen. If she said something in the past I haven't seen it, but I've seen most of her specials and thought the message was better than most comedians and Hannah read her book and liked it.
