  1. I love The 1975! I'm seeing them next month and I'm very excited. I do enjoy neon signs, too >-p

Oooh brilliant! Same, I'm from the UK though so I won't get to see them til they do this whole artsy tour thing in December. Paha, who doesn't enjoy a good neon sign? Even the UK government got in on the neon sign hype and started mirroring their EU referendum ad campaign with their album teasers ahaha.
Back on track though - I guess no new songs til the US tour. Would be daft/mean to start playing new songs mid-tour!

Meh, no more mean than it is for Canadians not to hear any other new ones ;)

Very true, but boy would I be gutted if I went to a show then the next night they played a new one!

idk, i actually really like that they took the time to correct some past mistakes (lyric booklets, leaked demos, etc.), before moving on to releasing their final album, and then saying goodbye. jesse won't be 40 and the band staying 18 forever is also a nice touch.

if you're going to go out, you might as well go out with a bang.

My only complaint about the setlist is You Won't Know not being the closer / or encore

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

We're definitely getting an album this year. The press releases have been sent out so clearly they've got something.

Glad to see Sealed to Me still on the setlist, was kinda worried it'd get dropped now and never see proper release.
Sad to see the band has maybe less than a couple years left in them. That's probably 1 UK/Europe/Anywhere outside of North America tour and a couple US tours left. Which sucks.

Yeah, although last year they toured the UK twice in one year - one for the intimate venues which I managed to get a ticket for, and the second for the larger ones for the folk who missed out. Feel like they'll probably do two by 2018 at the very least. It's a lot of time, and despite them not coming here often they still usually do manage it once a year. I'm sure there'll be festival slots and all, but I loathe festivals :(

Yep in the same boat, tbf Brand New did pull out of like the only festival slot they've had in the UK for ages a few years ago so hoping they do a kind of medium sized venue tour to balance it

Yeah, as great as the intimate shows were and I feel so lucky to have gotten to them I almost wouldn't call it a tour because they were so small, just kinda seemed disconnected from everything. I think if Brand New toured here and billed it as their last UK tour it'd have to be a small arena tour, I just couldn't imagine them going out playing 2000-ish cap rooms with an 8000 cap in London.

  13. Three song spots taken up by three of their new (worse?) songs. Wonder how that'll go over / if changed for the mm run.

Do you mean Sealed to me in that? Because I'd say there's a strong argument for that being one of their best... are you not a fan?

Not to mention for fans that haven't heard new songs (i.e. the types that aren't scouring the internet regularly for new material) I can imagine the excitement of getting a new song is more than enough.

Wonder what @Jason Tate thinks of their new songs? I'm pretty sure he digs them.

Are we implying he's heard them?! Am I missing something here?

Nah. I'm just facetiously referencing how much Jason doesn't like the three "new" songs we've all heard. Haha.

I have to say if a set was only 16 tracks long with all three I'd be pretty upset about it. But either way the new songs are great, I'd be happy to see them play it but then just hope they played more.

I knew Jason wasn't a fan of IAAN and he thinks Mene is okay but I figured they knocked it out of the park with Sealed to Me. That song is great.

I welcome the introduction of new songs to their live set. The stale nature of their live show has been a turnoff for me for a few years now. Its nice to see them breathe some life into it again.

Also, seeing/hearing all of this talk about 2018 forced me to shell out $117 on one ticket to their upcoming sold out show in Pittsburgh, PA via StubHub. I feel like a chump, but I would not be surprised if ticket prices increase after the rumor mill really gets going...

Yeah I'm surprised how short it is too. I'm sure they'll add more as the tour progresses though.

Good grief, that's madness but fair enough. I'd do the same but the flights to the US and Canada aren't renowned for being cheap *weeps*
