Yeah, that Vice story was complete and utter bullshit.

It’s been fun seeing them get dunked on. But also not fun how quickly this shit spread straight to the President.

 

Nah he just wants to be able to stuff ballot boxes easier.

His strategy is pretty obvious: tell people what they wanna hear. His supporters wanna hear he's done this. So they're fine just going along with the "yeah America is fucking awesome again."

 

It's not like his base is going to fact check any of that, determine if it's even good or bad in general, or ultimately care anyways.

They love Trump and whatever he says. Period. It doesn't matter if it's true or not.

It's a definition of "save money" that makes all the difference. How much should we be expected to save for our kids? Should I save for state college or ivy league? Should I save for disney world every summer like their friends get or more modest vacations (if that)? Should I put money in a trust for them that they simply inherit or donate to those in need (or a program that funds those in need)?

And, I think what you're sort of getting at is, is it morally wrong to provide for someone who is non-kin at the risk of potentially harming your own blood?

 

My only point was that your post was kind of talking down to people who save money for their kids. It was also assuming we were still talking about regular folks like us and not millionaires, like some other people jumped to.

Of course it’s not morally wrong to help everyone you’re able to, family or not. It’s the exact opposite. Donating to charities and helping others is great, but if I have kids and a normal income, I’m going to pay my bills and put money aside for our livelihood before donating the rest or something. Then again, I probably will never make more than $80,000 a year ever in my life, so I’m just a small fry.
