How does one "walk back" a chant in front of a crowd of people?

Like, if I start chanting "chug chug chug" at a party with friends, can I walk back the next day that I look and sound like a massive idiot? Don't think that's gonna fly.

usually spit the seeds out though. and if I have a knife or something I'll remove the bottom thing. but it really doesn't make a big difference in eating it.
