All this is funny about FHTI, especially since that album put the band on the map/boosted their career.

Steamer Punk, Bloodied Up, and Crawl are my top 3 songs from the album though. Take Lots With Alcohol is great too.

 

I just find it so uninteresting in every way and it never goes anywhere, it just kind of plods along and then ends.

Not when you’re as old as I am and you grew up in Chicago.

The melody of Into the Night is great. Crawl is just kind of there.

 

I mean, i get where you’re coming from. I’m 31 and also grew up in the Chicago area too, but I still think FHTI was a big boost in their career.

 

huh. well I'm an avid Dan fan so take me with a grain of salt. but lyrically it's some of his all-time best (not a thing I say lightly), the "it's way to easy to fake this smile" bridge is a really satisfying climax that the song builds up to, it's just generally a standout on the album right next to Alcohol imo

 

Crawl is so haunting and beautiful. Lyrically that's emo at it's finest.

 

Since I'm a nerd who pays attention to such things, Trio's monthly listeners on Spotify has gone up about 56k since Blackbird came out, 519k to 575k

 

I've noticed its also their top track on apple music too.

 

I have listened to it on Apple Music.....36 Times. I’m sure I’m not the only one

 

I’ve only played it once because I like to have it fresh for my first full album listen

Nothing wrong with going chronologically of course, but if you wanted one album to start with, I'd definitely recommend Good Mourning. I think it's a perfect encapsulation of Matt and Dan's different yet complementary styles.

 

Into the Night (though I wish the original version had Dan doing backing vocals the same way he does the last chorus in the acoustic version)

I have very vivid memories of walking home from the bus stop after school with that song on repeat.

 

People hate Into the Night? That's always been one of my favorites on A&I

 

Into the Night is great it just should have been the penultimate song, with In My Stomach as the closer. actually I remember some interview with Dan where he was surprised that In My Stomach was only the last song on iTunes and not on every format, so I'm guessing that was their plan on how to end the album until fairly late in the process.

I don't hate Into The Night, just is their weakest closer and I like it acoustically by Dan so much better.

I think the only two songs of theirs I can come close to saying I actively hate are Draculina and She Lied To The FBI lol

 

havent really dug any full length since crimson but theyve had quite a few good songs on every album. hope all of this is good.

 

Oh hating on She Lied To the FBI is pretty sensitive for me.Whats wrong with this one?

 

Been listening to their discography a lot these past few days and I think MSIT might actually be my second favourite
