I'm still skeptical of a Joe/AJ feud at Summerslam. I'm sure the match will be great if they get 15-20 minutes, but I don't think they're ready to pull the trigger on Joe (nor should they be imo).

 

Matt Riddle pulled out of 8/18 and 8/19 dates with Over the Top Wrestling in Ireland and will be replaced by Juice Robinson. Interesting that coincides with SummerSlam weekend given the talk that WWE has reconsidered its position on Riddle after four months ago not even allowing him to work at Axxess. Time will tell.

I have given inside information on belts for nearly every company since joining this subreddit.

That being said: As I posted here 4 months ago, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship belts are DONE and will be part of the announcement Stephanie McMahon is giving on RAW.

The Women's belts are very similar to the men's tag belts, but on white leather. The WWE logo is much larger and prominent in the design. Also the male gladiator helmets are more feminine. There is a fan creation from the WWE 2k18 video game that was made in March that is very close to how they look. I posted this picture on Twitter yesterday, with the above information to give a quick visual representation. Numerous people do not read and simply posted the picture as "this is the belt according to Dan", which is totally false.

My sources say the belts will be defended between brands. One source says just RAW and Smackdown, another source says there will be occasional NXT involvement.

The other part of the announcement is supposedly the all-women's PPV. Mike Johnson of PWInsider posted this yesterday saying a hypothetical date would be September 30th, Nassau Coliseum. My source said it's not set in stone. They really want it in October to tie into the Breast Cancer Awareness month aspect of marketing. They also said "NYC". WWE considers Nassau Coliseum NYC, so everything Mike said could be true. They could use the Sept. 30th date as a "kick off" event.

So that's all I know about that.

In other belt news:

NXT:UK Women's and Tag belts are supposedly near completion or done. The NXT;UK tapings are coming up so maybe they will be unveiled then??

The 205 Live Cruiserweight Tags are done. No idea if/when those will debut at this point. There are numerous belts WWE has had made that for some reason they decide to not use. This may or may not join that list.

 

I love this idea, especially since the NXT womens division is so deep and people disappear for too long (IIconics, Nikki Cross, etc) between Takeovers. Imagine a Sane/Shirai team popping into RAW/Smackdown one week to challenge.

I always felt like they should do more NXT crossover stuff. Sami coming out in the Rumble in 2016 or his US Open challenge were both great...and having Curt Hawkins go down to NXT to score an "easy win" and still losing is also a great way to introduce NXT guys to the casual audience.

 

They should dump the US title and the interbrand tag titles and make the men's tag titles and the IC title defended across brands

 

I kinda feel like with the brands moving to separate networks they'll want less cross brand stuff going on but honestly who knows if WWE has even though that far ahead with this

 

I'm very curious what other titles were created and not used

 

I wonder if they will create new shows for Fox. A tag team show or something like that. Probably be taped like main event

• On a recent Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated WWE will take the titles off current champs Carmella and Alexa Bliss before the just announced all-women PPV in October because their “matches have not been good,” and “that’s tough - because if you end [Evolution] with those two, there is going to be a struggle.”

Rousey going over at Summerslam seems kind of obvious at this point. Carmella losing to Becky (at the Evolution PPV even) would make sense. Sasha/Bayley winning tag belts if they do go that route.

In a weird way, they're most likely to leave Charlotte out of the 4 horsewomen because she's been out of action

 

no chance Charlotte isn't in one of the main events for Evolution

Carmella and Alexa will both drop the belts at SS - you can't have the first-ever women's PPV headlined by two women who can't wrestle even though I figure Alexa will be in the title match for the Raw belt at Evolution if they are planning on tag titles but if not please be Rousey vs Banks.
