Well, Save Face is already on the line-up. Haha. Not sure about Jetty Bones...

Personally, I don't think this will be the case. Mostly because they usually have a band or two that fit that "slot," but... I think they have some bigger guns in that category this year with Bleachers, Matt and Kim, K.Flay, and Twin Peaks.

I think there's definitely going to be an older rock act--I'm guessing Rancid. But who knows... I think FYS is out, though. They played last year.

I think the second wave entirely depends on what is happening behind the scenes. If Costello and Blink both have to drop who knows what the final lineup will look like.

I'm really doubting either of those acts is going to drop. Not anytime soon, anyway. Costello, especially. As I understand it... He just needs a bit of extra "recovery" time from surgery. So unless something goes haywire between now and then, he should be good.

Same thing with Blink. So long as Travis rests up? I'd imagine that gets squared away by September. Either way I bet that call wouldn't be made for a long while now.

But if Blink were to drop, that would throw fucking everything off I'm sure. They would be fucked if that happened, I think.

    Whatever. Forever.

Still praying for Green Day. However, I can only go on Sunday and it's already packed with a few of my must-sees with Mom Jeans, Johnny Marr, Blondie and The Wonder Years. Plus probably getting Incubus and either Trio or Blink makes the trip well-worth it!

Won't happen this year but I've always hoped Riot could get Sunny Day Real Estate back together again.

My guess is that they have a couple options and they are waiting to see how ticket sales are.

At this point, I'm guessing that we aren't getting any album plays this year... I mean, we might wind up with a few just because of what certain artists are doing (e.g., Bad Religion) but it's not likely to have the usual hub-bub around it.

A couple options as far as what goes? Who they pull in for the second wave? At this point, I'd imagine they have whoever they're going to get locked and loaded but they're waiting for a finalized contract (or contracts). Or it's the whole Warped Tour thing...

But it feels a little funny to hold off on a full announcement for any of those bands at this point... The big adds from that tour would be in late-afternoon-on-a-main-stage-at-best time slots.

At this point, though, it's just starting to feel silly. Two months until the festival date. With every day that goes by they lose potential ticket sales with people booking other trips, etc.

If they are holding off until after Warped because they got the Maine, then it will be worth the wait

I’m not frustrated that Wave 2 hasn’t been released because I’m not expecting much from that. However, I am shocked that we are less than 60 days away without a 3rd headliner.

Prices are still tier one $159! Don’t those typically sell out on release day? Maybe they had a bigger block of cheaper tickets.

I’m sure it’ll all work out in the end.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes with the Riot organizers, but as someone above said, each day they are loosing sales.

The first wave came later than usual and a lot of october and november festival have already their full line up announced, add this to the people complaining that the first wave wasn't as good as expected

Riot it's not a locat festival anymore, they bring people from all the US and even other countries who can't wait that long to book tikcets, hotels, planes because it will be more expensive each day it pass

They must be really confident about their third headliner for all of this, or they have problems we don't know that are delaying everything

I think the really miss Sean and I also don’t think they got anyone to replace him so that’s why everything is struggling this year. Hopefully they find a replacement next year and everything goes smoothly if there even is a next year

Honestly, the 3rd headliner is all I'm really curious about. Traditionally, the second wave hasn't ever had too many bands that got me real excited. There was that one year where they added Primus, the Hold Steady, and Say Anything. But that was cool. And then the year when System got added as a headliner.

That's probably a big part of it. But I also think they just just got screwed for headliners too, because so many bands are out doing their own thing this year (or are on a break/hiatus of sorts; and there's only so many bands you can reunite).

That being said -- At this point, I'd be surprised if they just stopped doing it. I could see them shrinking it down some, maybe taking it in a different direction or whatever, though. For sure. It got stupid huge for a few years but you can't maintain that with the "scope" of artists they tend to pull from.

Regarding Adolescents playing because of Steve Soto’s passing: They apparently are commiting to playing prior-scheduled shows. Brad Logan (Leftöver Crack, Rats In The Wall) is filling in on bass. So I don’t believe their Riot Fest appearance will be cancelled

The Early November and The Dangerous Summer are definitely playing

No chicago on Fall tour and open date on Sept 15 after Detroit

I'm not convinced of anything this year, but seems likely... I couldn't care less, but those would be halfway decent adds for a second wave that would get some people pretty excited, I'm sure! Especially on this site.

So happy this means Save Face is playing Saturday because now I’ll definitely be able to see them.

Edit: They tweeted that they’ll be missing a show on the tour because of riot fest, so not sure what that means for any of the other bands.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

There's is no Chicago date on The Early November's just-announced tour and they're playing Detroit 9/15 and Springfield, MO 9/16. I smells a Riot Fest appearance!

EDIT: With The Dangerous Summer, Jetty Bones, and Save Face.

EDIT EDIT: I am so late to this conversation.
