Bands were amazing today, all amazing...but in my 16 straight years of warped this was the worst of any date I have ever been to. All the stages were crammed together and bled into one another. There was not enough room at any stage. Don’t get me started on the food, water, and bathroom situations. There was like a total of 8 port a potty’s in the whole compound and the main Amphitheatre bathrooms, with a narrow narrow walkway that the transform stage was in. Totally irresponsible. That being said I still had a blast watching the bands, but fuck was Lyman totally irresponsible on this one in the name of selling tickets.

Less Than Jake are NOT playing Chicago's Warped. It was added to their pages by mistake.

All these horror stories make me grateful to have only ever gone to Warped in Scranton. Even in it's busiest years, I've never had any major complaints about the setup aside from the first time they held it there in 2005. The main stages were like a half mile apart so I had to choose between The Offspring or My Chemical Romance and entirely miss one of them. I went with The Offspring, but I still hate that I ever had to make such a choice. They fixed that for 2006 and have kept a similar setup since.

There were points during Trash Boat where Harms Way seemed louder than Trash Boat that’s how close the monster stages were to Owly, and the edge of the Simple Plan crowd and crown the empire essentially merged and you could hear both bands equally. Otherwise the bands were great when I just said screw it and went monster to monster stage.

  8. Ok today was insane. I was the kid in the tie dye FYS shirt and pink shorts. I stayed the whole time, got there 10am and left at 9pm.

In fairness Kevin lost money last year. He had no idea that shows that sold 7000 tickets last year would sell 18000 this year and had to plan for that same 7000 number. It’s one of those things where the casual fan showing up at Warped harmed it and they likely didn’t have a good time either so if they decide to revive it one way or another they won’t attend. So far Warped it ended up being a lose-lose.

alright so I had an amazing time despite almost collapsing from heat exhaustion after MiW. I ended up chilling out at the amphitheater where there was breeze, shade and someone left a rental lawn chair so I borrowed that for a bit. I didn't really care about too many bands after MiW until Every Time I Die, so chilling out for 2 hours there was super sweet. Towards the time for ETID, I made my way down while Crown the Empire was still playing, and hey Jordan was manning the booth! I got to chill and talk with him a bit, then it was time for them so we parted ways. Time came for ETID, and I thought "alright well after MiW maybe I'll stay towards the back and really enjoy the show" but basically EVERYONE left after Crown the Empire so I snuck a spot right at the gate towards the left side, and by this point in the day the sun was low so we were all in shade.

HOLY SHIT IT WAS SUCH A BETTER EXPERIENCE. Even the crowd surfers weren't as obnoxious as the ones for MiW. They weren't coming literally every 2 seconds for the entire set, that's what really drove my exhaustion up during MiW I think. Amazing set, and then they did the meet and greet after and I got a kickass photo with them! So happy, everything went pitch perfect.

Other than that, Senses Fail were really good! I was towards the middle-back for that, but I had a lot of fun with them. I caught a bit of Waterparks earlier in the day, the end of We the Kings, and 3OH!3 happened to be playing right next to wear I basically collapsed after MiW so I heard them for a bit. I didn't end up seeing that many bands but I ended up having a great day nonetheless (other than heat exhaustion)

oh and I was the guy in the blue and white My Hero Academia shirt if anyone saw that, it's quite bright.

I could see the spacing issues, I was surprised with how some of the stages were set up. Didn't affect me but I get it.

I agree with what you said 100% up until the part where this show sold out twice and they made more tickets available.

That wouldn’t have affected the stage placement though. Sure you might have had 1500 less people but the stages would be equally as close, if not closer since usually when more tickets become available it’s because they increase the venue size allowing more people in.

Yea you are right, essentially they are two separate issues

Yeah I dislike people and the Toronto date is on track to sell out so I’m dreading that but I’m also going to Darien which barring rain is a huge venue so I’m hoping that’ll make up for the shit show I’m expecting Toronto to be.

Every year I go to Camden, Holmdel, and Scranton and never really have complaints. This was just as packed as I have ever seen this venue. Camden yesterday probably had as many people if not a little more and it was no where near as packed as today was. Scranton is always really nice too other than when doors first open because it’s just basically a big straight line.

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

Not going to do a full write up now since I need to be up early to make it to the Hartford date but I didn’t really have that many issues with Holmdel today. Got great parking, got in on time, never had to wait for a bathroom or food...not to mention I saw 14 bands before leaving early after ETID.

Anyone at the Hartford date tomorrow? Shoot me a PM!

Owly & Full sail we’re staggered yesterday I wonder if that’s a mistake

  24. They were only staggered because they were right next to each other.
