Whoa. All the changes to my local Pokemon is crazy for this weekend event. Tons of Aron, Torchic, Lotad and then the obvious Alolan Exeggutor and Geodude. I'm really hoping to get a shiny Aron since I have enough to evolve him. This is exciting.

 

Got an alolan Diglett last night!

 

Just caught an Alolan Geodude, Bagon, Feebas, Magmar, 2 Slugma, and an Aerodactyl. Just sitting at the parking lot to get food.

 

Caught a wild Cacturne today. That’s a first.

 

Nearly the same here haha. This is nuts.

 

This is my house. There's always at least two or three Pokemon outside. I got Feebas, Plusle and Minun (no shinies yet), this Magmar, Spoink and Swinub and Alolan Diglett and Geodude. I legit don't have to leave my bed haha.

Corsola is through a trade I did after the Shiny Lugia raid. My first.
The (shiny) Wailmer is also a first for me.

 

So, these are all the things coming in July and August (kind of just typing this out for myself):

- Increased spawn rate of Lotad, Cacnea, Snorunt, Swinub, Magmar, Seedot, Wailmer, Feebas, Slugma, Treecko, Mudkip, Torchic, Alolan Exeggutor, Aerodactyl, Trapinch.
- Shiny Plusle and Minun available
- Lugia returns for the 14th and 15th
- Eevee Community days with chance to catch shiny, exclusive move, 3 hour lures and 3x stardust
- Zapdos returns with chance to get shiny
- Celebi special research
- Next of the Regi trio will be available
- Scizor as a raid boss
- Bonus rewards for Chicago fear of double candy, reduced distance of egg, and rare candy in every raid
- Bonus rewards for late summer fest of extra stardust for catch, raid and hatch plus star pieces will last for one hour

I think this pretty much sums up from now until August. Anything I’m missing?

There’s been quite a few local players who have started picking it back up. I think so many though it would be come stagnant, and it definitely had its moments, but Niantic has really found good ways to keep the allure there consistently.

 

I have given Niantic a lot of (frankly deserved) shit, but they are really picking up the pace and adding a lot of great new stuff. I have to give them props for that.

 

Don't believe Celebi special research is confirmed yet, just expected.

 

Someone I follow on Twitter who is at PoGo fest has tweeted screenshots confirming that they've received Celebi special research tasks at the event.

 

Just caught an Aerodactyl in the wild and a shiny Plusle. This event is awesome.

 

I’m not crazy about Celebi. Surprised it qualified to be on the same level as Mew. Obviously want a decent one for the dex, but I’ll be excited for Smeargle I love that little shit.

 

I need shiny Lugia so bad! Already got a shiny Plusle today, hoping Minun is easy too. Really would love an Aerodactyl but I don’t know how many I’ll need to see to get lucky.

Pretty sure I’ll pass halfway to 40 this afternoon.

Also are any of you going to any of the NJ/NYC Thursday or Jawbreaker shows? That’s when I’ll be in that area next if anyone wants to trade.

 

I'm more excited for Celebi than most of the later ones to be honest. They just got ridiculous after a while.

Also, Ho-Oh is better than Lugia and Gold was better than Silver. Fight me.

 

Silver was better than Gold, for the good reason that it's the one I had when I was young. My brother had Gold. But Crystal was the best.

 

Just came across three plusle. The first was shiny but I missed the animation so I ran. The second one was normal. The third was shiny and that’s how i figured out the first was shiny too.

Also I’m seeing a ton of geodude but none are alolan. Then again, that’s just a normal day here

 

Silver has Donphan. Silver > Gold.
