Also, the Carson anecdote is fucking worthless considering, at that time, Sanders was an unknown.

General election polls in May are not "predictive data" that's my point.

Those were from February after he had already won New Hampshire, he was pretty well known. That's my point, general election matchup polls before the conventions are garbage data.

No one in here was arguing that Sanders would be a better candidate than Clinton. You were the one who brought up the argument.

    See:
"There is no rational basis to think Clinton performs better in the general. She performs terribly with independents and her strongest states will 100% go Republican."

That was posted after Eric brought up the topic.

It's a scandal when you publicly proclaimed you were fighting it.

Any "charity" that receives non-profit benefits and gives only 10% of its proceeds to charitable causes can fuck off.

It is, again, when it's contrary to what you've been promising as a republican representative.

She validated her fundraising by saying it was helping low-level members. 99% went into her national campaign. It's money laundering.

Clinton was THE advocate and it came directly in the wake of Gaddafi's overtures towards nationalizing North African oil.

I am not surprised that you have no clue, as you seem to be a bit of an imbecile. But the SoS of the most powerful nation in the world has more than enough bargaining power in economic relations of impoverished Atlantic countries.

There are links somewhere in this thread or the previous one.

But I"m not going to spend time digging them up considering you are completely immune to facts and data anyways (re: Clinton being a better general candidate).

The graph is a poll tracking model from Huff Post, RCP hasn't tracked as many polls. And even the data you seem to be relying on (RCP) has Sanders beating Carson so what are you even talking about?

Polling average + other models. And the last poll was 4 months ago, which is obviously more unreliable than todays data. And that ISN'T only what people are pointing at to say Bernie is a better candidate. His favorability ratings are far stronger than both Trump and Clinton. Clinton has a net unfavorability of -18.2, that would be the worst favorability rating of any presidential nominee EVER if she won. Sanders is at +10.2 on the other hand.

Revolution kool-aid sounds like it'd taste pretty good imo. Likely the most widely known fact about Sanders is the fact that he is a self-proclaimed socialist and he's by far the most popular candidate in the race and does better with moderates and independents than Clinton. There is no evidence that this will fade in the general against a candidate like Trump who very obviously isn't a moderate.
    You're too cute.
"Hipster millenials," shit you're cool. Bernie does better with self-described moderates than you think, I'm looking for the data now, and there's no evidence that partisan old people would flock to Trump over Bernie.

Also, I am making the argument that Sanders is a better general candidate than Clinton.

I would have thought that a crazy statement a year (or less) ago, but it's pretty fucking clear at this juncture and against this Republican candidate.

Ah I see. I'm dumb because I don't agree with you. Why don't you explain it for me then?

Gotcha. Thought you were just saying there's no way to know whether or not Clinton/Sanders is better.

Bernie praised Castro, praised bread lines, voted against the Amber Alert, and wrote what is basically a rape porn fantasy. Sure, there's some context that makes these things seem reasonable or gives justification, but context doesn't matter in a 30 second attack ad.

Oh, and if we're going to judge what a candidate's spouse did, his wife bankrupted a college

    1. Yes because Ben Carson dropped out. My point was, at the time, general election matchups had Carson neck and neck with Bernie. I think thats bullshit, I think Bernie would have beat Carson. THIS IS MY WHOLE POINT. That early GE polls don't mean anything and that people using them to argue for Bernie's elect-ability are reaching big time.

    2. If Sanders is the "most popular" candidate in the race, then why is he losing by more than 3 million votes? Did Hillary stuff the ballot boxes? Or maybe.. just maybe... he's only popular with the young and you are greatly overestimating his level of support.

    3. All they would have to do is run this in an ad:

And Bernie's support among moderates (which I call bullshit on anyway but I'll wait for you to dig something up) would evaporate.

The conclusion of your first article is this:

"Leaked cables show that the U.S. Embassy in Haiti opposed the minimum wage hike that the Haitian parliament passed in 2009, and discussed the issue with business groups.

However, the cables do not contain conclusive evidence that the State Department actively pressured Haiti to block the increase nor do they prove that Clinton personally played a role."

It's more likely that private businesses said if the min wage went up they would take their business elsewhere. Maybe our leaders just told them that.

Someone wanted to talk yesterday about the good things he did other than his character flaws. And just saying it's no wonder the US wanted that guy gone.

Someone asking for a general opinion of a leader in a specific context is not condoning every action taken by that person. Considering how staunchly you guys go to bat for Hillary and capitalism, this seems like the kind of thing you'd be able to understand.

So you think Bernie would beat Carson, but not Trump? What? RCP also had Clinton neck and neck with Carson fwiw.

He has the highest favorability among the candidates. Do I have to repeat it again? That doesn't mean he is the most popular among registered Democratic voters. The voting difference can be explained in a number of different ways, closed primaries have kept a lot of Sanders supporters out, as he has higher support than Clinton among registered Republicans and Independents, and the fact is he was not well known until well into this race.

Favorability ratings are more sticky than you think, and that is hardly the thing that would "evaporate" his support.

Someone used ousting him as an example of things republicans haven't attacked Hillary on, but don't because it 'aligns with their(republican's) interests'
