Warped responding to Alt Press' story on the hundreds of people being treated for heat illness in Nashville, and roasting them saying "Maybe if you came out on the road with us you'd have that "breaking story" on time"

    Noteworthy things that happened today:

    - Ryan Key said he'd be playing guitar for NFG on their dates

    - Simple Plan brought out Austin from Waterparks to sing I'm just a kid, they might be rotating guests for it bc Jarret from BFS did it the previous date

    - State Champs had a suicide prevention.mental health awareness guy come out to talk before their set, which was pretty chill

    - BFS brought Kevin Lyman out on stage for their photo shoot

So I may actually go to this in a couple of weeks (Not really feeling the lineup, but I really wanna see Real Friends).

Question - when do the schedules get posted, and are you allowed reentry? I really only wanna see like 3 acts and wanna tailgate for as long as possible. Do I have to actually enter to find out set times?

  7. You can definitely find set times on Warped Tour’s social media platforms, especially their IG and Snapchat stories. As for re-entry, it really depends on the venue.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

No re-entry at any date I have been to. You can keep an eye on this thread for the schedule before heading inside. It is usually posted here each date.

    Summary of my day:

Not a fan of the VA beach setup. Right Foot was in an ampitheatre, about a 5-10 minute walk from Left Foot. The Monster stage was right behind Owly, and they were both very close to Left Foot and Full Sail. There were areas where you could hear all 4 stages playing at once, and it made waiting for bands less enjoyable.

11:35: Sleep On It - Never really knew much about these guys, but nobody else was playing so I checked them out. Fun live show, I'll spin their record later.

12:00: 3Oh!3 (Partial) - Caught the end of their set after Sleep On It, Not really anything special performers, but Don't Trust Me is a hit

12:40: Waterparks - Eh, not my thing live. Austin is a fine enough frontman at getting the crowd to move, but they feel too backtracked for my liking. Also didn't play TANTRUM, which was a bummer. Probably the smallest crowd of any Mainstage band.

1:00: Boxford - Some local band on the Full Sail stage, but they were good. Solid pop punk, more on the punkier side

1:40: Ryan Key - One of the most wholesome Warped sets I'd seen. No bell or whistles, just Ryan on an acoustic guitar. A lot of fun sing a longs, since he stuck to Ocean Avenue stuff.

2:15: Broadside - Great show, great energy. Kinda a hometown show for them, but they had the biggest crowd of the day at Owly. Very fun stage presence, though kinda the cliche pop punk style of playing. Still, both the lead and backing vocalists have great voices.

2:40: Reel Big Fish - Pretty much par for the course show for them, you either like them or you don't. I love them, and think everyone should check their show out, even if their records aren't your thing. Probably got the crowd moving the most of any band today.

3:40: State Champs - Good live band, they can work a crowd. Good setlist - Dead and Gone works well live and they played Remedy. I wish they would drop Mine Is Gold for pretty much any other song off Living Proof though. Smaller crowd than I'd expect, especially with how well Living Proof has done.

4:10: Four Year Strong - First band of the day in the amphitheater. Sound quality wasn't great, they sounded loud more than anything.

5:10: Real Friends (Partial) - I was grabbing food and figured I'd watch them while eating. Just not my thing, even though I listen to so much pop punk. I left early

5:40: Mayday Parade - Good energy from the crowd, they might've had the biggest Left Foot crowd of the day (Though RBF and BFS were close). Something felt a little off about their performance, they still have the cover in their set, and a certain feline song...

6:15: Trash Boat (Partial) - I wanted to check them out over Simple Plan, since they were a much shorter walk and I'd never seen them before. I'd heard good things on here about them, but they're very much not my thing.

6:10: Simple Plan (Partial) - They had the advantage of being in the amphitheater around the time everyone wants to sit down, but by far the biggest crowd. The pit area was well extended into the isles, and basically the entire lower bowl was filled. Very much put on a fun, energetic live show with a lot of songs everyone knows. Interestingly, they played Boom, so they don't just play their old stuff. Kinda nice to see form a legacy type of band. Even if you don't love their records, I'd check them out.

6:40 Knuckle Puck - Great band, very fun to watch, and they got the crowd going. John Swaba is a severely underrated bassist. They did not play Fences or No Goood, which I thought was interesting.

7:35: Grayscale (Partial) - They were my #3 band to see, behind BFS and the Maine, so kinda annoying all 3 of their sets clumped together at the end. I watched their first 2 songs before heading to BFS, I reasoned Grayscale will be around for a while longer so I'll see them again easily, while BFS doesn't tour much. Fun band though, I met them at their tent, nice guys.

7:40: Bowling For Soup - Legends. I honestly don't think there's a more entertaining live band. Yes, their set list is kinda repetitive year over year, but they are a very fun show and had a huge crowd. I really would not miss them at any festival.

8:10: The Maine - Fun show to end it. For a band that's fairly mellow on record, they take their songs uptempo live, and John is one of the best frontmen out there. The Red aesthetic is pretty cool.

It's a little poppier than I expected based on the singles but still tight and very Post-Hardcore influenced. The deeper cuts are definitely on par, if not better than the singles.

  14. So 18,000 people coming has to be a mistake right?

I think that’s more of a testament to how poorly last year did. A lot of people doesn’t bother me, but I’ve gone to Holmdel at least six times and it’s so crammed together already and I don’t know attendance figures but there were def times where it felt overcrowded then.

Is 18k a lot for this year's run? I remember back in the early aughts when I would go to the Randall's Island show every year, it averaged 20k each year. And one year I went to the one in Detroit while visiting some family and the reported estimates were like 30k (I think it was 2004).

My friend has an extra ticket if you were still interested in going! Let me know!

  19. Does Camden usually have one main stage in the ampitheater?

  20. cricketandclover

    Things have changed.

It seems to be the trend for this summer with the pared-down number of stages.

There’s 925 tickets left for Holmdel as of 3 hours ago.

And, no, it was not a mistake. They sold over 17,000 tickets so far, which is wild.
