Multi-man match was randomly scrapped, and we have no indication that Lashley/Roman is a #1 contenders match.

That's the one big thing that frustrates me about these takes. NJPW is an attraction. The card doesn't matter at all for the show. Cow Palace didn't not sell out because "cody vs kenny omega 2 doesn't put buts in seats". It didn't sell out because they were in LA 3 months ago, and it's clear that NJPWxAmerica is no longer a rare thing. All In sold out because it's an attraction to wrestling fans. There's this disconnect that these events are mainstream when they're not. and I love NJPW

 

There are a lot of factors going into a sell out of the Garden. You definitely touched on most of them. However, I think the biggest is the timing. I'm not sure it would sell out at all if it weren't in that Wrestlemania pocket. That's the huge sell. Yeah, its a big market, but I'm not sure its one that sells out the Garden.
