So so disappointed that I won't be able to make their London show, I was at their final show there before the break. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a full UK tour next year.

It's so frustrating to hear people compare this album to "dad rock". I hadn't even heard the term before I noticed people using it to describe this.

I hate how people can't just enjoy (or feel comfortable liking) music for what it is without comparing it to something else.

This is the first time I've heard someone refer to this album as "Dad Rock." Foo Fighters could be "Dad Rock," not Thrice.

    It's my mum's dodge caravan

The riff in Wake Up is so badass, I agree this is nothing like dad rock at all, listen to this and Foo Fighters' last album and come back and tell me they're in any way comparable I dare ya

I just don't get it. Don't hear it at all.

The entire notion of "dad rock" is stupid in and of itself. So when you become a dad you automatically don't/can't listen to "good" music anymore. The whole thing is just so infuriating.

My dad likes Thrice. Dad rock confirmed.

Hey @Jason Tate, can we start giving points to people who use "radio rock" and related terms (like "dad rock") in a negative sense?

    hmmm

To be honest, any label of a genre or style that has anything to do with age or gender is dumb. It even pisses me off with boybands when they're dismissed as just something for teenage girls - a) it's never just teenage girls who like them, and b) you're telling that age group that the music they like is irrelevant or in some way not important. It's exactly the same for 'dad rock'. It's bullshit.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

Damn, and here this new Thrice album was actually supposed to be good. What a letdown to know it was just because I've been a dad the whole time.

does anyone know where I can buy a lossless digital download of the record? Right now I am streaming it on Apple Music but it surprised me and would consider buying it for lossless quality.

    This too.

With the right software, you can get a perfect rip and essentially have the lossless.

"Dad Rock" is a weird phrase to use when a majority of Thrice listeners are in their late 20's to mid 30's

In fairness, quite a lot of men in their late 20's to mid 30's are Dad's.

I'm a Dad to a terrier mix, and I love this album, so I guess I fit into that generalization.

There should be a questionnaire before you're allowed to download or buy this album just in case any non-dads listen.

Or maybe there's a frequency that only dads can hear.
