Can someone recommend more stuff similar to Khemmis?

Pallbearer and Spirit Adrift are the two that immediately come to mind and the obvious choices. Everything else I can think of is some hybrid of doom rather than pure doom (High On Fire, The Sword, Baroness). Maybe try the new Wolftooth album that came out earlier this year.

    Thanks!

I'm already on board with Pallbearer, but I'll check out Spirit Adrift and Wolftooth.

I dunno if doom is really what I'm looking for. Something more in line with Khemmis' new album, rather than their older work, but I like it all.

In addition to what theagentcoma recommended, I'd probably also add the following bands to the rec list:

Candlemass (They have a LOT more material than this, but I enjoyed their recent EP a lot and a track from it is on Bandcamp so I'll post it here):

Dvne (Probably a bit more in common with Mastodon/Kylesa/Baroness, but their album from last year is solid):

Bridegeist (Kansas doom band with one EP to their name, but I dig it a lot):

King Goat (progressive doom from the UK):

    fuck....coolest lyrics ever

Agalloch- As Embers Dress the Sky

The shallow voice of the wind cries between these ebony wings
The shallow cries of the wind sing a swansong for mankind

    Shine on morning skyfire
    Ablaze this final day
The autumnal end, the dawn of man
The centuries fade below my feet

I soared above them as they worthlessly poured thought from a chalice
As wisdom would flow, twilight would come to pass
Drink, oh hallowed cup of life

    Shine on evening skyfire
Paint the sky with the blood of a raven
    Bereavement, oh garment of ebony
As embers dress the dusk of man...

New Pig Destroyer. This...isn't that great as a stand alone single TBH. It'll hopefully work better in the context of an album. That said, gimme that guitar and bass tone on the album with a grindier track, and I'm sold.

Saw Code Orange, Twitching Tongues, Show Me The Body and Vein last night.

The whole show was great, but Twitching Tongues and Vein were highlights.

I’m not a big fan of Twitching Tongues on record, but they are awesome live

Nails > any of Taylor Young's other projects.

Lot of shows getting announced today in Chicago - Windhand/Satan's Satyrs, Goblin (playing a score of Susperia live), and Midnight. It's gonna be a hectic fall if I'm still in the area.

I wasn't super into them before seeing them live, but their show made me want to revisit their records.

I really hope this is just a mediocre single and the rest of the album is the phrenetic grind I love from them...they've had groovier, downtempo tracks in the past but this just lacks intensity compared to this. I really hope it works better in the context of an album though because I could see it working like that.

I feel like a lot of their groove parts in the past we’re surrounded by extremely heavy and chaotic parts within those songs. This is just groove the whole time and sort of plods along
