Saw her tonight. She did great and I was v jealous of her sparkly shorts even tho they were so sparkly the light reflected off and it was hard to get decent pics/video lol

i like this album a lot. just my personal opinion.

 

Keen to hear how she's performing this album live. Does she have a big band? There are so many elements to the Golden Hour arrangements.

 

I'd say she has an avg size band. Here's a bad pic I took that I think has all of them pictured



She's just opening so idk what it'd be like headlining. Played for about 45 min all new songs except Follow Your Arrow and a like country funk cover of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy. She sounded pretty crisp and clear and managed to keep the crowd engaged tho lost them at some of the slower songs but I think that was sorta the nature of the audience.

 

Ah OK, I didn't realise she was opening. I do like the previous albums but the new one is next-level, so it's great to hear that's what she's focusing on.

 

Yeah it was cool to hear new stuff and she prefaced the show by pretty much saying it'd be all new stuff. My only kind of criticism was there was so much like hype energy hysteria in the air lmao that when she played a longish string of lower tempo songs in a row it kinda brought that down a bit and a lot of ppl around me went from all standing and singing along to just sitting down, including myself. She brought it back around by the end tho

 

Yeah, from a production/mixing standpoint, it would be hard to find a better sounding album.

 

The mixer, Shawn Everett, also engineered No Shape by Perfume Genius and mixed it, and it sounds similarly incredible.

 

Fun video. I don't think I will ever get sick of that song.

 

Great video, I feel like I don't see as many fun conceptual videos like that these days
