Wish I could take a time machine and see them play like, most of Alligator, in a shitty bar circa Brooklyn 2005.

 

Not my favourite National album but I would probably choose for them to play High Violet front to back. Would just work the best with Terrible Love opening and Crybaby Geeks closing.

 

I would also pick Trouble Will Find Me

 

Trouble Will Find Me is like a top ten of all time for me so uh that one

probably Alligator next just because I think it'd be v cool live

 

Tonight was my first time seeing them as an actual fan and it may be the best set I’ve ever seen. They played at the round stage at Eaux Claires and I’m still trying to gather my thoughts. Wooooow

 

They pulled Julien Baker on stage and played “Appointments” into “Fake Empire”. A moment I’ll surely never forget. What a band.

There was a couple new songs as well. Forgot to mention that they opened with “Sorrow” featuring Phoebe Bridgers.

They absolutely slayed at MOPOP but they never finished the last song (About Today) and there was no encore. Very awkward end to a great set.
