I think there's too much being made of it. To me, his only major failing was that he didn't get the game under control early, which led to some pretty ugly stuff.

That's being said, the players bear the responsibility of acting like animals. Also, if he'd clamped down on Colombia early and sent off Barrios, he'd have probably been pilloried anyway.

The south Americans seem pretty pissed about it, but Colombia just didn't try to play football. End of.

 

There’s a very miniscule part of me that wants Russia to beat France in the final just to see how the history buffs spin a Napoleon joke.
