Only thing I've found that I like Pecans in is the Pecan Praline Cheesecake that the restaurant company I work for makes.

Pecan pie is still bad. There are so many better pie types out there...

here's the ingredients for millionaire pie.

we usually make it without nuts because my daughter is allergic and it's good even without that.





and this is how it looks but we put mandarin oranges on top.

 

my grandma's apple pie (cliche as fuck, but the woman can bake)
banana cream pie from this awesome place in evanston
my wife's chocolate chess pie (also cliche as fuck, but again, she can bake)

 

those are all good choices. the quality of apple pie varies so much though and I haven't had a great one since my grandfather passed away.

so apple pie is usually outside my top 3 probably closer to 5.

cherry, pecan, millionaire, chocolate, banana, are all pies I'd eat over apple.

 

stop talking about pie.

I liked the guacamole I made so much yesterday that I went home for lunch today and ate way too much of it again.

 

I think I've had this and didn't like it

 

cherry, millionaire, and regular chocolate are also great pies...basically it just boils down to the fact that i hate pecans.

...and I agree about the quality of apple pie being so varied. i've had some shit apple pie in my life, but when it's done right it's phenomenal.

and sorry to hear about your grandpa...i truthfully will probably lose five pounds whenever my grandma passes because everything she makes is so damn good.
