I can’t find anything that has distilled what you have said down to these points you are claiming you have been boxed into. They’ve been responding to your viewpoints as you present them.

Some might be making fun of you, but I don’t think anyone has remotely attacked you here.

Also I definitely remember Chappelle getting a lot of heat for his trans joke. To be honest, when I first heard the joke when watching his standup, I didn’t think anything of it, even being very pro-LGBT myself (I like to think). I didn’t get any transphobic vibes from him either. However, after reading up on the viewpoints of how trans people were feeling about the joke, I gained a broader view on what can and can not be hurtful.

Whether you think the safe spaces are excessive or not, you and I (as far as I can tell) do not live under any of these circumstances, so it isn’t for us to decide if they need a safe space or not

 

she's pretty comfortable talking about it and does so publicly often. She really believes that talking about her trauma in public spaces is the best way to remove the stigmas that victims face. If she wasn't comfortable with the subject I wouldn't bring it up. She's straight up a bad ass.

It's embarrassing that The Hill published this.

This is all familiar to me, since I lived through McCarthyism in the 1950s, when lawyers who represented alleged communists on civil libertarian grounds were shunned. Some of these lawyers and victims of McCarthyism lived on Martha’s Vineyard. I never thought I would see McCarthyism come to Martha’s Vineyard, but I have. I wonder if the professor who refuses to listen to anything I have to say also treats his students similarly. Would he listen to a student who actively supported Trump? What about one who simply supported his civil liberties?"
