    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

Manchester Orchestra (in name) will never stop.

They are still super popular and arguably the most popular in the mainstream they have ever been, so I doubt they are going to stop.

Pretty sure Manchester will always be some form of Andy and Robert making music. But if I were the other guys I would stay on board, makes a good living and doesn’t require a ton of touring.

I know they’ve been around for a while, but I feel like Black Mile is them just getting started. A new era of sorts.

    Here for it.

    loved that documentary

favorite part is the beautiful recording of the silence at the end and once they stop, he goes "how was that, fine? one more? ok one more."

    we don't deserve this band.

Would You Still Be In Love?

Decided to revisit this album out of the blue today for the first time in almost a year. Didn't realize there was ManOrch stuff going on pretty much at the same time. Talk about good timing

Seriously. If i go more than 3-4 days without listening to The Grocery my head would explode.

Would You Still Be In Love?

I usually cycle through all my music. There isn't any album or band I've listened to every single week. Although I was on a Radiohead kick for months not too long ago

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

I go months between listening to any MO. They are undoubtedly my favorite band, but I go through waves of binges.

Truthfully, I feel like I’m always a record behind in terms of truly connecting to a record with them. Around when BM came out, I was heavily into Cope, and I think that cycle has repeated itself for every record before it.

I still love each new record, but I just need time to actually digest them.

Not sure if anyone here is from STL but they quietly announced a show at The Pageant with Kevin Devine and Sandy Alex G. I’ve been binging them ever since, super excited for the show. Hopefully we get some new Bad Books songs.

given what Kevin has sort of had to go through this year its really nice seeing Andy step up and continue to show him support.

Yeah. I think KD has been between a rock and a hard place as far as his care and love for his friends, and balancing the whole thing with having joined the band (you know the one) just before everything went down.

Man. Things are so weird now (again, deservedly so). I don’t really stop to dwell and think on it anymore, but typing this post out just made me sick to my stomach again.

Anyway... ABMTTS is my favorite album from last year, and maybe this decade. So there’s that.

I sympathize with others who’ve said they are on a delay when it comes to getting into a MO album.

SM just clicked for me a year ago & BM is there now.

    Still waiting on Cope.

Good guy, but a bad dude

Cope got me into them when it came out but I almost never listen to it now. Feels half baked and less ambitious than the rest. Black mile however is a fucking masterpiece and spends a lot of time on my record player

I dunno, Black Mile was very immediate for me. Probably the most immediate in their discography, with Cope, surprisingly, being the second most.

I'm a new MO fan, but I was hooked on every song from Black Mile immediately and I still listen to it all the time, pretty much whenever I'm driving.

Since then, going through their other work, I haven't found another record from them where I was really into every song. I will say that the song "Simple Math" is probably one of my favorites.

But anyways, they really did an incredible job on this newer album and I'll be following this band a lot more closely from now on.

I’ve recently fallen back in love with simple math, that album has its flaws for sure but I think the songs themselves are fantastic.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them go back to their heavier roots but use Catherine marks for Production forever haha. Cope could have been great with better production.

My dream is to meld Simple Math with Every Time I Die.

That’s the record I’ve been begging for for years.
