It must be the imaginary line that is the United States border where Hillary Clinton draws her moral line when it comes to destroying families' lives. Unfortunately she's not alone, that's pretty much the where the moral compass ends for both major parties in this country. But hey also if you vote third party shame on you.

  9. If you wanna win in other districts, uh, don't do that. You will lose. You will lose badly.

Agreed. I actually think the PSA guys made a good point about her. The right candidate won for the right district they were running in. It is way to early to see if her type of campaign and message applies nationwide (though, I don't think they do).

Nah man, run as a socialist in Oklahoma, talk mad shit on any Dem that doesn’t!

  12. Yep. It's exactly like she herself said:

    She's dead on.

And many of the takeaways from her campaign, which can be applied more globally, are right on from the PSA bit as well. Those are good takeaways for most districts and winning. Running on socialism, is not.

  13. It would be fun to see all the pearl clutching if someone tried it in the Texas 13th though. :crylaugh:

I feel like the Chapo Vs. Pod Save America fan base fights during these election cycles will reach a new level of insufferable.

  15. Oh yeah, it's gonna be awful. If you think the "what about Jill Stein" vs the "I can't believe you brought up Jill Stein" jokes were bad ... get ready.

It's why Bernie may be the best bridge candidate. Both groups (minus the Hillary die-hards that will never vote for Bernie) will get behind him. I think his path to victory is still hard, but both groups will be energized for him. However, someone like Booker or Warren or Gillibrand is going to face similar criticisms as Clinton did from the left. That bridge really only gets put together with someone like Bernie it seems like. (Or someone very new, with very little voting or history.)

    Fun times!

  16. But, if Bernie loses? Oh god the Hillary-Stans will be coming with receipts for every "Bernie Woulda Won" chapo joke maker and the entire left will probably just implode.

    So, that's fun too.

And somehow our current dickhead in charge will still somehow dominate the news. All the reporters will try to stress “All the president has to do is stay out of it, but you know him.” I really don’t look forward to 2020.

  18. My only hope is that, when bernie runs and he doesn’t pick up the Hillary stans, he makes it up by taking independent voters away from trump

I think Bernie would be a great bridge candidate, but I would put my money down on him not being the candidate chosen.

You know, it just sucks to think that if you live in a swing/red district or state and are a leftist you have to settle for a candidate who isn't going to fight for you the way a candidate in a safe district will.

Also, let's say we get all the safest blue seats to back universal healthcare, abolishing ice, etc. If the Dems from more conservative states aren't for it and we don't have the votes within the party to wield political power then what's even the point? Claire McCaskill isn't going to vote to abolish ice, she's not going to vote for universal healthcare.

  21. Harris, Booker, and Gillibrand likely would mirror his platform anyway

Harris and Gillibrand supporting Medicare For All and Abolish ICE, with whatever caveats there are on the second part with them, seems important

  24. Agreed. I think at the very least he'll see a positive uptick in turnout. That alone should keep us from seeing Kerry 2.0.

However, I think he'd lose Florida. So that 'fabled blue wall' is where the turnout will matter most, and I think Bernie can win those states. Because basically ... if he can't win Wisco, Michigan, Philly, we're fucked anyway.

  25. Don’t you think he could take Michigan though? And PA? Wisconsin is unknown to me
