Happiness title track is top 20 of this band, y'all crazy

and it's not even my top 3 on that album tbh

 

Its a fine song but it may be the most non descript dgd song period. no extra dgd-ness.

 

The main 3 plus Zac Garren on guitar and Jason Ellis on bass for Happiness was just a once in a lifetime line-up. I've accepted that DGD will never make an album like that again, and that adds to how special it is for me personally. It will always be my No.1 from them, and what Will & Zac did with the guitars was honestly unlike anything I'd really heard before at the time. I'd been playing guitar for around 9 or 10 years before I heard the album and nothing has ever influenced me and my playing as much as that. Nasa literally melted my brain

Speaking of Zac, Strawberry Girls recently dropped a pretty fire song with Andres that gives me some Happiness vibes in the instrumental.

Agree with this. And for me that is track 1-4.

 

Powder is fantastic and Will's rapping is actually good. The last minute is wild

I find many parts of this album to be cringe inducing aside from these above tracks. Never got why anybody loved it but opinions are opinions and mine is no better.

 

Theres nothing to be lost about man. I like those songs I just like the others more!

I used to not like Swisher 1 a ton but now I do, the chorus is so cool

This thread, in how people both greatly agree or disagree with rankings, or favor certain vocalists to others, shows that this band covered a lot of ground and reached a wide variety of fans for different reasons. They’re a very unique band, and their fan base has only grown from their ability to adapt and try new things.

Happiness is greatly favored on here. Is it one of my favorites? No. But, there is no denying from me that the album reaches and appeals to a LARGE amount of their fan base and I can appreciate that because I appreciate this band and the fact that we are 13 years down the line now, and they’ve never once compromised what they wanted to do or sound like to blend in. An anomoly in its truest form.

 

They always kill it live. Like beyond my expectations, always.

 

The two times I've seen them with Tilian they've been great. The only other time I've seen them was 2011 Jonny and that says it all really...

 

I think theyve compromised a little bit as of late. Namely, whats up with incorporating the chugga chugga breakdowns now?

 

DGD didn't start doing those until after they stopped being popular. You just can't handle how subversive they are.

 

I saw them during the Happiness tour and it was unreal. However I’ve seen a lot of videos of them live since then. Does Jon Mess know what stage presence is? He could use some.

 

Jon’s fucking built too he could be like Greg Puciato up there but he just stands still

But he sounds good so ‍♂️

 

I just wish he’d loosen up he looks so tense holding the mic
