I like Wonder Years a lot, and literally bought tickets to see them in London this morning, and I actually thought that in places NCTH was a great album and one of my favourites last year (admittedly it was a really shit year for music but whatever).

But honestly the better songs on NCTH are very very influenced by Hotelier stuff, including Cigarettes and Saints. I'm not suggesting that TWY ripped off them, or that it isn't a brilliant song in its own right, but think End of Reel/any Hotelier stuff is them doing their entirely own thing.

 

Long shot, but my wife can't make the show tonight so I have an extra ticket. I can meet you at the door and let you have it free. I'll even get there when the doors open so you can see the openers! It's at will call. Stoked for tonight though see u soon @KennedyBN

 

Still can't believe this album exists

 

Listening to this on the way home from the beach yesterday was priceless. Volume way up, my girlfriend resting in the passenger seat, her hand resting on my leg, the sun behind us... Yeah that was the first of many great memories associated with this phenomenal album.

Just listened to OMFMG and thought the lyric said "insert the wrong meme" instead of "insert the wrong name"

Got to Calgary for a conference today and played this album for about the third or fourth time while putzing around the really scenic parkland and river area in the city. 70 degrees and sunny, absolutely perfect. Love how different the moods of both this and Home are.

 

I think that I'm the only one who prefers to listen to this one @ night

Listened to this at the gym today.. Sustain in piano player felt powerful as I was trying to maintain my pace on the treadmill ha.. Anyway Ive been listening to this and thrice non stop; both great albums but this seems way more monumental to me

How is the staying power for this for most people? We've almost had it for two weeks now and I love it more than I originally did

Opening Mail For My Grandmother is the best new song of the week on FTW/USAtoday.

 

I've only had the record since Friday, but I've been listening to it at least once per day. Still hits hard. Different moments grab me now, which is fantastic. It's a sign that this record will stick with me.

 

I wasn't feeling 'Sun' on my first few listens, but I love that groove now.

 

I've had it almost 4 months now and I love it more than Home and Home is like a top 3 favorite album so yeah

Show was incredible last night. Lost my voice screaming so much. Told Slant was great live too. The lead guy seemed so nervous though and I just wanted to hug him. Met @KennedyBN briefly too haha my friend showed up shitty drunk so I had to baby sit for awhile tho and had to cut out a few rows back.

But I was an emotional mess for most of the show. Especially during Among The Wildflowers and Soft Animal
