Holy shit. Thanks for posting, somehow I never heard about these. "New" and old school Lydia all at once. Definitely Steve on guitar. It makes sense they weren't included, maybe because they didn't get permission from Mindy after she left. They actually rerecorded her background vocals on the songs that ended up on Assailants. I like these songs but a little Mindy-centered for me.

 

Wow. Never knew this existed. The songwriting between Leighton and Steve is jarring though. I wonder if Leighton will ever try to bring him back into the fold.

 

These are all amazing. Whatever direction they were going to go in seemed amazing. Glad they didn't get to it or else I might have exploded.

 

Illuminate is so good but I don't really care about anything else. Very interested in checking these demo's out later though.

Damn those demos are pretty good, it makes me sad I wish Leighton would bring back a female vocalist, it really adds a dynamic to the songs that is really needed imo.

 

I looked at those videos you posted on youtube and saw the longer demo version of "Enjoy the Show" and I love that. Too bad it wasn't finished.

 

Yeah, I never knew those demos existed either.

 

Does anyone know who they're taking on their short run in July?!

 

I don't see any July dates? Their next tour is with headliners PVRIS running from May-June.

 

They're doing a really short run. Like four dates and they're coming to ABQ for one of them. It's listed on their instagram page.

 

ah, that's in June. I'm going to one of those dates and so far there's only been a small local band announced.

 

Came back to Run Wild in the past week or so and I'm really digging it. I think it works great as a summer album.

 

Okay, I might be crazy, but I'm pretty sure Lydia released a free download of an acoustic version of a Run Wild song last year. Does anyone have this? It seems to have vanished from my computer (or never existed I guess. hahaha)

Haha yeah, funny how he sings about "water and whiskey" and there are a few interviews out there where's drinking that during them. And I do really like the line, "I got to be honest. Surely one more drink, that should solve it."

 

I love Devil, and it's definitely my second favorite by them. Their new one is great too.
