If you haven't listened to Chris Gethard's podcast yet, today is the day to do it. Wow.

 

Seconded, episode was really powerful stuff and I specifically came here to post about it.

 

I watched Jeselnik's Thoughts and Prayers with my grandma today. She's a trooper.

 

I'm on my way to see Wheeler Walker Jr.

I'm not exactly sure what to expect haha

 

Yikes. Legit trump rally kind of crowd.

 

How was it? Haha I feel like people probably didn't get it was a joke.

 

It was fun! Everyone seemed to enjoy it. There were a ton of dumb rednecks but enough people who knew what it was showed up right before he went on.

As musicians they sounded great too. I recommend checking it out if they come near you.

 

@yeahrightdude Looking forward to Wheeler Walker Jr. in a couple weeks, but after what you just said, I wonder what the Dallas show is gonna be like.

 

Yeah I listened to that yesterday and it was awkward as fuck at times, haha. It seemed like he never really apologized and talked over Doug A LOT. I love Bert, but c'mon man.

 

It'll be interesting to hear the actual DLM episode once it drops.

@Mr. Serotonin I think you'd enjoy it. Look for some guests you are familiar with and enjoy and check out a couple episodes.

 

Honestly, I think I'd only enjoy the episodes with the super obnoxious guests that Bert was mentioning @suicidesaints

 

I usually love the chaos that ensues when Pete Holmes, TJ Miller, and Jeff Garlin are on the show

 

Haha. Yeah, I mean the obnoxious guests are a lot of fun (sometimes) but I get where Doug is coming from too. He has a show to run, and while the crazy guests are cool, the game play is part of the fun too. There's a balance to be had. However, sometimes Doug tries too hard to stick to format, and in my opinion, sacrifices a lot of the comedy/organic conversation. He particularly does this on Getting Doug With High, which he says is more relaxed and less format-y, but he always HAS to hit certain beats that he's already worn out to death and no one really cares about anyway.

I stopped listening to DLM for a number of reasons one of them being Doug always being pissy and overbearing about sticking to the format and kinda killing the vibe sometimes.

 

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. For that reason I mostly sympathized with Bert's point of view in the recent podcast, but it certainly sounds like he stepped way over the line at times too

That being said, the idea that he was flown in to STL and was expected to take a back seat, and basically change his whole persona, is kinda weird

 

Still love DLM

 

I haven't listen to either podcast about what happened but I definitely think Bert has a drinking problem and honestly needs help.

 

Yeah, still listen to every DLM and go when I can. Doug hasn't really gotten a bad attitude since he stopped doing the free weekly show at UCB Franklin. Bert always railroads the show, from what I heard he didn't take the criticism jokes well that come when he does that. Apparently, especially the ones from Geoff. I haven't listened to the mini ep though so I may have missed something.

 

I would kill. KILL. For Reality Show Show to come back, even if the guys only touch on the shows for parts of an episode of HH

 

Didn't someone or multiple people in this thread go to the live HH that got put out this week? It was really good, so I bet they had a blast, if I'm remembering correctly).

 

Me too since I just started watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
