when I was a kid my family was poor and we lived outside dallas and there was a place that was a bait shop/insect/other stuff you can buy alive and dead. they would pay some money for certain things. they paid like $10 per black widow that you brought in, so we would try to catch them alive so we could sell them.

cool story. haha.

 

what did they ultimately use the black widows for? bait? research? antivenom? i need to know.

 

I think it was for the venom. not positive. I was like 8 years old.

haha. $10 to an 8 year old (at least when I was 8 21 years ago...) is like winning the lottery.

 

I didn't get the money. we had none, so that bought us food for the whole week probably haha.

 

this got real fast.

 

not a big deal. from the bits I remember I had a good childhood, we were just poor and my mom did what she could to save and stretch whatever money we did have. yes she used coupons.

it's funny to me looking back at my childhood and who I am now. it's clear to me what stuck with me and where I got it from.

I'm very much like my mom in a lot of ways. my cheapness is definitely genetic.

also pointing out lazy writing in the film for the lulz is not funny it just reads as "haha we already have your money what are you gonna do about it!!"

 

Second one tried hard too. I also wasn’t really a fan of the style of humor.

 

I do have a bias in that Cable was my favorite from the cartoon.
