^ I didn't watch/read all of this (there's a lot), but this guy does seem like a provocateur. I can see why he's popular though. IMO, 'political chameleons' can make for entertaining hosts, even if they're not always intellectually honest/consistent.

I don't disagree with this. I wish the KKK didn't exist. I wish its members didn't believe in the things they do. However, my personal viewpoint is that if they were prohibited from demonstrating in the public square, they wouldn't just go away. They would still want to be scene/heard and that would probably be in a more violent way.
Just to be clear, if the KKK announced a demonstration/parade/whatever the fuck they do in my town, I would like to think I would be there on the sidelines demonstrating against them to show them how outnumbered they are in modern society.

 

I like to think when Trump made the announcement he actually called them vroom vroom machines

 

I had a long reply in mind, but the last week of news has me distraught.

Why is everything so fucked.

 

Manipulation and distraction. We experience so little of reality its easy to to distract people and manipulate them, feeding them your twisted perspective, and then using that to come in to power to "fix" problems that never existed. We as a people are very easy to misinform, and its even easier to get us to not care. And people have gotten very good at profiting off of both of those.

Or... no KKK demonstration. Then you can just relax on your Saturday. All efforts should be made to make them non existent and at the very least harder to exist. If they are allowed to demonstrated in a public setting then they are allowable by societal standards. Their existence is not just tolerable but acceptable.

America actually does a great job of ending the existence of social and political movements, like the Black Panthers or Communists in countries they seek regime change in.

 

I like that she actually thinks she treats people with respect. Like ... what?

Sure, fuck J Edgar Hoover and what they did to the Black Panthers. The FBI isn't perfect these days, but they have had a hand in getting KKK members fired from law enforcement. It's not like they have done 0 to keep the hate group from growing.

I disagree with the highlighted part. I think it's a fundamental disagreement about what society should be and what the role of the government should be vs what is up to the people. I don't think someone's 1st amendment rights means the things they say are acceptable by societal standards.
