So the vinyl jacket doesn't open? Thoughts on the packaging? Is it worth getting?

 

Well all in all, my thoughts exactly - I won't complain, cause those songs are great, and I like it more and more with each listen, but it resembles "Carry The Fire" stuff so much.

 

Stay With Me is the best song on here.

Nah, it's not. Was going to just pick it up tomorrow since it's now scheduled for Wednesday and it's literally sitting next door to where I work.

It doesn't qualify to be picked up though, because it's FedEx Smartpost.

 

Stay With Me isn't among my favorites but it's still a great song.

 

This is the first Thrice vinyl I've owned, and I had hoped it would come with the lyrical commentary I've seen included on past releases. If the cost hinges on that aspect for you, its absence would need to be considered. On the other hand, a preference for vinyl sound quality would justify the purchase. The physical quality of the packaging is very good.

I'm not the person to ask concerning the difference in sound quality between formats, though, as my turntable is out of commission at the moment and I haven't been able to play the record yet. Hope that's helpful!

 

Thanks yes that helps. I like the record even more than Beggars and that's saying a lot so I think I will pick this one up.

 

Yes I preferred the live version of him playing it on guitar to the studio piano based version

Many of us are still waiting for our orders to be delivered throughout this week. Hoping for the best of course.

 

Weird how the two song I was most indifferent towards upon my first couple listens (Wake Up and Whistleblower) are now two of the songs that get stuck in my head the most. Whistleblower especially is a phenomenal song.

For those who received the black vinyl instead of the smoke, and have talked to customer service: Is the only solution a refund? I've seen some people say differently.

I'm just preparing myself for getting the wrong one, would rather taper my expectations now so in either scenario I already understand my options.

 

I love everything about "Wake Up" except the chorus'. The "every window" and "foxes in the garden" melodies are so, so rad.

 

When I talked to customer service I offered to exchange my incorrect black order for the correct smoke one. They responded just by saying they would send me the correct smoke vinyl ASAP and that I wouldn't need to do anything else. Made no mention of a refund/exchange. So it sounds like I may end up with two vinyls for the price of one in the end? *crosses fingers*

 

TBEITBN down to #20 on ITunes, but still an impressive run. Any guesses on first week album sales? Numbers are cool.

 

The Window is everything I could ask for from this band.. this is such a good ROCK record
