What'd you think? In some ways it also reminds me of a heavier version of Murder By Death. Mostly his voice.

Have you checked out Statues by the band Black Peaks? You posted their new single not long ago.

 

I'm playing it right now so thats why im asking. Vocalist range is so impressive and they are great instrumentally. The new singles are expanding on that. Their sound is huge. @littlejohn i can see you enjoying them too. The only thing i will say is the album feels a little long but for a debut its def a promising start. They have a ton of potential.

 

ha I haven't listened to music in weeks. last thing I played was the HH album that I still owe @Bad Frequencies a review of.

 

I haven't yet. I will check it out, maybe today.

 

What essential bands? I used to live p much in Logan but it's way too expensive over there now. Im happy about my move to Irving Park. I have a pretty big apt with 2 bdrms for $1100 a month! Jefferson Park, Irving, and Albany Park are underrated imo. What other shows are you going to? I'm thinking maybe checking out Sleep, Kurt Vile and Yob. I used to go to shows evert month but really been slackin off.

 

The Office is everything.

 

Playing it for the first time in awhile since ive been enjoying the new singles so much but was starting to overplay them. It's an enjoyable release for fans of the post-hxc genre like i am. Also has a healthy dose of prog and alt rock in the mix so it makes for a good combinaison. Singer has an impressive range (spoken, sung, shouted and shrieked)

 

I liked it, but I haven’t gone back to it much since my initial listen. I’ll revisit it eventually :)
