They weren’t kids though, they were grown ass adults. Idk it’s scary to think about. These are real people who have real, horrible beliefs. And they log on to a game or website and don’t have to suffer real-life consequences for the things they say. I wish I was a nerd who knew how to leak people’s personal info to out them for who they are.

i've always noticed that the age range is always so wide. you could either be talking to a 12 year old troll, or a 38 year old troll. they're stuck in their gamer bubble so no one is gonna call them out on it. so i def agree that they need some real-life consequences

 

I mean, I am. I don't have much income so I don't keep many physical copies lying around at once. Otherwise I grab things on digital sale on steam. I've said this 10000 times in this thread but yeah. the pro membership (only $15 for a whole year) has been to my advantage bc I get more credit and better discounts, and pro weekends and shit. And the past two years or so the trade in values have been better overall. That's my experience tho.

Been playing Assassins Creed: Origins for the past few days now. Really enjoying it but the one criticism I have is that it feels too easy (even on hard) and I feel like I’m leveling up WAY too fast...

lol i try to avoid most FPS voice chats because its usually the WORST. I sound like a prepubescent boy so I can kinda avoid the sexism insults but god the background noises and then "OH MY GAWDDDDAAA" from the kids getting killed running and gunning gets way too much or "YOU FUCKING IDIOT HOW DID U NOT SEE HIMMMMM" toxicity

 

I wish Vampyr had less production issues because I am enjoying it so much and if it had that little bit of extra polish it would easily be one of my favourite games from the last few years.

 

Y’all, Hollow Knight is incredible. Get that shit immediately if you like Metroidvanias, challenging platformers, or really well made games in general.

 

some pretty simplistic metrics, but here's a small infographic. most directly, it polls ~50% conservative, but less along Republican lines, suggesting some libertarian distinctions. 40% support American-centrism actively, presumably military/economic actions that approach imperialism? i'm trying to find the original publication, but this is the most primary source i've found; it doesn't look like the ESA has any slant besides pro-gaming. (there was a reason survey that suggested libertarian leanings as well but it looked pretty self-selective.)

here's a long dissertation on masculinity, politics, and gaming as well.

my general expectations would be that gaming is more diverse than we expect, that those expectations are shaped by loud and empowered white men, but also that there's some self-supporting that goes on to pull non-white/non-men closer to the right too. but that's mostly conjectured cobbled together from the limited research on gaming sociology.

great game, but it's easy to burn out on, particularly if, like me, you want to 100%. closest souls-like that gets why the souls games are good.

 

IGN is terrible in general so it’s unsurprising to hear their user base are equally terrible.

 

So the DMC5 trailer pumped me up so much I decided to finally go through the series (having only played DmC before and enjoyed it, and being hyped as fuck for DMC3 back in the day but being too young to convince my parents to get for me)

I'm a good chunk of the way through DMC1 I think? Just finished Mission 15 I think it was, killing the big bird Griffon. I wasn't expecting how little of the way of story it gets, Trish just kind of pops in and out when she wants which is weird lol. Game is janky but for being 2001 it's not like, offputting. The underwater sections were SUPER jank though lmao

 

That on PC? Playing on console, voice chat isn't as prevalent as I'm guessing it is on PC. Most of the time it's vote to kick/team killing that happens.

 

I have really good luck with LetGo/Craigslist. If I buy a game at $60 ($47 with Best Buy discount) and beat it within a few weeks, I can usually sell it for $40.

Like I told someone else in this thread, I have had pretty good success selling my used games for much more than Gamestop trade value through Craigslist, LetGo, and even through gaming groups on Facebook.

If you just bought a game for $60 at Gamestop and they offer you $15 for it, that's pretty shitty. You also don't have to trade it in.

In no way am I defending them, just throwing it out there that as a gamer you have options.

I finished DOOM on the PS4. What an absolute blast of a game. I have no idea what to play next.

I've been playing a bit of Yakuza 0 and it's super fun, haven't played Doom yet but hear nothing but good things

Oh yea I beat DMC1 and started on DMC2.

Honestly I get the concerns with the lowered difficulty, the guns are insanely powerful, but it's fun so far! Animations seem much more fluid.

 

I'm definitely buying both...especially since they're $20. Thinking Yakuza first
