I've never been the hook-up type but using tinder has been going unrealistically well for me so far.

My tinder has two pictures of me in sunglasses, one with me without sunglasses, one with me and some hot chick sitting in a club, and one with me playing the guitar. My Bio is uber short, mentions my height and Game Of Thrones.
Granted this profile wouldn't be acceptable in Seattle (needs a joke or two) where I came from but it seems to be working in Toronto (people don't like humor here).

Toronto- They won't msg first. They don't ask questions. They want to be chased.
Seattle- They will sometimes message first. They will always ask a question to keep convo going. Need not message more than 3 times before asking for a date.
Atlanta- Will match a bunch. Done.

I know...but it works well enough. I swipe right only on a very specific type of look and get a match or two monday-thurs. Friday/Sat gets around 4/5 matches.

If I just swipe indiscriminately I'll get around 5-12 depending on the day

I don't get how the hell you start conversations on it. Even when you mention a mutual interest normally they're reluctant to expand on it or it just backs you into a corner (like saying they're a massive fan of a specific band but don't have any favourites or whatever)

 

Personally I use the same lines. Seattle i just say Hey "insert name." If they reply with anything with an exclamation point im in and turn on the charm.

In toronto I have a line with a little more work but it's batting 1000

I don't go out expecting to hookup. I go out expecting to meet someone and see where it goes. Heck, I never say anything sexual. Alcohol+charm+hours go by then it kinda just happens after that.

I mostly only swipe right for women who, based on either their bio or pictures or whatever, I know I'll be able to think of something to begin the conversation that will be at least partially specific to them. I never go in with just a "hey" or "how are you?"

I automatically swipe right for anyone whose name is some variation of Alex, like Alexis or Alexandra

 

I straight up can't stand people who leave their profiles blank. I want to know what to talk about with you, I could care less if you have multiple pictures of you and your friends.

I don't know if this was intentional on your part, but this sentence can be interpreted as you saying you're attractive, which is how I read it, and so it made me laugh

 

I swipe right on everyone I think is attractive and then if I get a match I'll take a closer look at that time. Or I'll just keep swiping and never get around to messaging anyone

 

I look for girls who look like Elvira and boys who look like they belong in a mid 00's scene band. You can see where this is going.
