What's wrong with this? I think he means that he's successful enough to get signed again. Tons of players get drafted and aren't good enough to sign and are back in the real world quickly.

 

It’s not the worst answer I guess, but in an interview setting there was a much better way to put that. One could interpret this answer as “I’m just trying to do well enough for four years so I can cash-out.” You could say things that would imply that you would get a second contract by listing things you want to achieve.

To me it’s like, asking a new teacher how they would define success and they say “when I get tenure” lol

 

I get that, but think it's way too cynical. He's just a teenager and I hope people don't judge him too harshly on this.
