I had a friend post a picture yesterday of these holding centers with pool tables,etc and basically was like see? They’ve got all this fun stuff!

They don’t need stuff. They need their parents. I’m not a parent but god damn this makes me so sad. And angry. And disgusted.

I think a lot of us are feeling the same way right now. Every day is a new nightmare. I am truly ashamed to be a citizen of this country.

 

Yeah this week has made me physically ill

 

Infuriating but not surprising. This is a far too common story with displaced children. You would think strictly regulating children shelters and youth residential facilities would be a top priority in this country by now.

 

Everything about this presidency has made me shake my head, argue with people, roll my eyes in disgust, get angry, etc... but this situation has made me feel ill and seriously questioning this reality. I can't stop reading about it and haven't been getting good sleep and then dreamed about it last night. I don't understand how heartless people are. It's outside of my mind.

 

Nothing but respect for my president

 

Honestly I've felt ill about the reality of the way this country treats the poor and disenfranchised pretty much my whole adult life. Its exhausting. This presidency has at least sparked some visual public outrage, but still nothing gets done. Here's to hoping that changes soon.

It's definitely been hard to focus on work and just like make small talk
I hate the question "any fun summer plans" even when I'm not thinking about baby cages

 

Yeah like you know when you get to work and people say "how's it going" and you wanna just say "fucking awful I'm full of despair how about you"

 

The TV in our lobby at work is on Fox News all day every day. I wish I was able to change it.

 

Damn, it's exhausting being a decent human being. I wonder what it would be like to float through life as a Trump conservative and just go to bed at night without a second thought about the hundreds of screaming and crying children locked away in a warehouse.

 

They don't have empathy. They don't give a shit about anything that doesn't affect them directly.
