King of the Clouds actually might be my favorite single. Really dig this one!

It's not grabbing me as quickly as DOAB did, but this is a really, really great album.

  3. I mean in theory, yes. But they’ve kept every EP posted up as well with different names, so they now have three different EPs all with the same art and basically all of the same songs... it’s exactly the thing you’re describing that you don’t like

It's a better album than DOAB but not as immediate.

I pre-ordered last night but would love to listen to this album during my run today haha.

Which is funny for me. I love DOAB, but it took me along time to get into it. I’ve liked these songs right from the beginning. Will be interesting to see how it lasts for me.

Nothing has topped Vices and Virtues for me though.

The songs not released are some of the weirder ones.

Honestly shocked this hasn't leaked yet. So many people got their cds/vinyls today.

Yeah but it’s nicer for your personal library. Like I just delete the previous EP and replace it with the newer one. Which I mean is tedious still, yes. And I guess it doesn’t make a difference if you’re someone who is looking up the songs, if anything making it more confusing. There should be a better system. Just release it under the album title and then have new songs automatically added to your album as they release. Idk.

Dammit, I knew I should have preordered. Guess I’ll just wait on a leak until I can buy it on Friday

Roaring 20s may be one of their best songs since anything on V&V.

Yeah, I'd say so. Not THE best, just one of them.

    Very glad I pre-ordered!

  17. Yeah, the last point is something we for sure agree on haha. Idk what the logistics of something like that would look like, but it feels much more ideal to just have everything in one place. I’m just trying to look at it from the perspective of someone that doesn’t follow the band very closely, seeing all of those EPs and being like “wtf is going on here” lol

Those that have heard this so far... Do you think the singles are among the best tracks, or are the best tracks ones that weren’t singles?

Imo the singles are overall the best, but there are a couple top-tier deep cuts

I’m kinda mixed on it after 2 listens. This album has a lot of.....R&B on it? Like, it’s got that smooth mellowness with bursts of energy and I like that. The hooks are all pretty damn infectious. Uries voice is on point as always, Roaring 20s, One Of The Drunks, Old Fashioned, and Dying In LA don’t do a lot for me aside from the hooks but that could easily change in time. Dying In LA is another piano-led closer and it’s fine for what it is just nothing spectacular.

All in all, a little underwhelming but it’ll probably grow on me
