The beta draft was one of the coolest things I've ever seen magic wise.

Yeah those are some great reprints, especially Scapeshift. There's only one version of it (Morningtide) and it's like a $50 card

Stunned by the spoilers for this set so far. Wizards is really coming through. Now hit me with that Liliana of the Veil reprint and I'll officially start playing Magic again. :P

I don't really understand that card.

 

what don't you understand? it's a control finisher that's incredibly hard to kill, except through board wipes, as long as you have something to discard

 

Thinking about it in that light makes more sense. It just through me off that you'd want a 1/1 in most any scenario. Feels like red is a strong counter to that with something like, "deal 1 damage to all creatures" or stuff like that. I guess there'd have to be side board specifically for it.

 

the only time you'd ever use the ability is to save it from removal, basically. it's a quirky ability but it basically is just "discard a card: counter target removal spell"

 

weird that this is a mythic

 

eh, it's a core set and it's an absolute limited bomb. a 5/4 flyer for 5 is already pretty busted
