My gf’s family never put pepper in their food because they don’t like it. She also thinks it can be too spicy.

 

Pepper is a weak spice. At least 90% of the time you use it, I fell like there is a different spice you could use for greater effect

 

The no pepper it's too spicy and the "put ketchup on steak" people I will never quite understand.

I'm of the opposite approach, I think people use too many other weird fancy spices and all you really need is salt and pepper.

 

Pepper is appropriately rated and deserves it's staple spice status
