Just noticed that Adam's playing the "second" riff in the video. Seriously can't wait to hear them rip this live

Lol well I definitely think they have their own style too. I can’t point to any specific foster the people song that this feels pulled from.

god I'm STILL finding small things about this track. absolutely brilliant

    like:
    - the programmed cymbals/crash in the intro/chorus
    - the panned left guitar changing consistently
    - the "noise-in(?)" to the bass groove in the second verse
    - the ambient drone note in the first verse
    - the shoegaze sounds in the bridge
    - the "hey-yahs" and other noises in the outro

My favorite part about this is the fact it carries into verse 2, then drops for the second half of the verse (or verse 3, however you’d define it). It kinda subverts the idea of “building your backhalf” back to the chorus. Makes a ton of sense when I think about it, I just never would have thought to do it. That’s normally how I feel about the 1975 to be honest.

yeah, that's what I meant by this:
It just totally emphasizes the bass groove and reinvigorates the second half of that verse (or verse 3 lol)

"Broken" literally sounds just like "Pumped Up Kicks" – you can sing one over the other.

This is easily the worst of all the songs I just listened to. Didn't like a single song that I hadn't previously heard, but this is the worst

Even as an 8 year old in 1995 I would have found that embarrasing
